looking for a house...
by: lookingI'm specifically looking for a house where I can have a strong group of Christian friends that will support me. I'm not looking to really go out or party all that much and i'm just looking more for a support group. I would really appreciate feedback and help with a few different houses that have girls in them like this. I know that each house has all different types of girls but I know there is also stereotypes. advice?

most houses have a bible study group or groups that go to church together. I've been to a bible study group hosted at the AXO house before. they do a weekly group with theta chi, or at least they used to. I know plenty of kappas as well that are christian and are very active in their respective churches. Honestly, with 300+ girls in every house you will find all types of women, if you're looking for a more religious clique you will find sisters who value that as well. But the poster above me is also correct, there are specific christian houses on campus as well. Chi Alpha is one located off of college ave.

The strength of Mizzou sororities comes from their diversity If you are looking only for people who are just like you, join a club. Or stay home. College is all about expanding your horizons and learning to appreciate people's differences. I really hope you don't join my house because we accept each other for who we are and celebrate what makes us unique, not the same.

Sigma Phi Lambda is a good place to start. There's also Chi Alpha but Sigma Phi Lambda is an all female group, so you can get the sisterhood vibe. And like the girl above said, you can still join a PHA sorority.
I know SK, AXO and Kappa have Bible study groups organized by the girls in house. Plenty of other houses probably do too, but those three do for sure.

You'll find solid Christian girls in any house. As mentioned before, Sigma Phi Lambda is a Christian sorority, but not part of PHA so you may not get the full Greek experience. I know Kappa Alpha Theta has bible studies and sometimes gets the "good girl" stereotype, though they have plenty of wild girls, top. Kappa also has house bible studies as do other houses.

You should join both Sigma Phi Lambda and a PHA house. Sigma Phi Lambda only has weekly meetings and is very low-key and easy to manage. You can still go Greek in a PHA sorority and join Sigma Phi Lambda. Best of both worlds! And like mentioned before, tons of houses have Bible studies.
