I'm in the same boat as you! All my friends are in a sorority and love it.. it sucks and I feel like I'm the only one not in one sometimes. What I've heard is most sororities won't do COB until after winter break so I guess we'll just have to wait!

Early in the Spring semester is when most houses COB. Houses like Zeta, Sigma, Phi Mu, Sigma Kappa, Kappa Delta, Delta Gamma, Alpha Chi Omega and Alpha Phi are known to COB.

If you have friends in AXO, DG, APhi or KD, you're more likely to get a spot. They don't COB every year and when they do, they only COB a few girls.

Houses like Zeta and SK have been known to COB. But SK might not COB because they just got a PC of 105 girls and might not have to. Ask your friends in these houses if they're COBing closer to winter break.

Sigma and Phi Mu are your best bet if you don't know anyone in Greek life. Both houses have a very open COB, they usually table in the student center and you don't have to know anyone to get an invite.

In my opinion, the difficulty of getting into one of these houses through COB is this order, hardest to get into to easiest.

DG (Because they have a type they look for)
AXO/APhi (Because they take so few girls)
KD (Because they don't always COB)
Zeta/SK (Both because a lot of girls try, so they have a lot of girls to choose from. They can be selective)
Phi Mu (Because they always need girls)
Sigma (Because they'll take almost anyone)

Now there might be a "negative stereotype" in joining Phi Mu or Sigma, but if you're truly looking for friendship and a support system, they can give you that. I have friends in those houses and they love it. So don't count them out.

DDD COB'ed either last year or the year before. I heard in the last several years both Theta and Chi O COB'ed. It's rumored that G Phi also COB'ed.

It depends on how may seniors graduate or go alumnae in each house, so if your first choice isn't mentioned above, it's possible -- not likely-- that you could get in by COB.

If you are in a dorm you have a way of meeting new people. Put a smile on your face, talk to people and stop making excuses. To have a friend you have to be a friend. So ask yourself what you're doing wrong.
