panhellenic means all greek

by:

Wow! I just watched my daughter go through recruitment at Mizzou! Congrats to all of you and your Panhellenic for managing and excelling at the second largest Recruitment in the US. My daughter had a fabulous experience and pledged a great house. It was not mine...but that's okay because I was on a different campus 30 years ago...she got to make her own choices. The one thing I find disconcerting about your Greek system is the cattiness and the digs you make at each other. Panhellenic means "All Greek"...I was our PHA President and had friends in all the houses. My college mentor was in a different house than mine and was PHA president before me. We are in touch to this day! Apparently our Greek system was much stronger than yours since we didn't need to tear each other down, and rank each other's pledges. Greek Life is AWESOME and I'm so glad my daughter is going to find lifelong friends in her sisters. I did. Look for the best in each other and celebrate you have so many great houses! Sure recruitment is competitive but I'd challenge each of you to focus on building your system up instead of tearing each other down. Her "Greek" Daddy and i are grateful she is at Mizzou and a part of something bigger than a special interest club. With kind thoughts and regards from a Panhellenic Momma...once a Panhellenic President, always a Panhellenic President!

Time for you to get a life of your own, Momma. Trust me, your daughter will appreciate it. No one wants to hear the rambling of someone who 1) didn't go to school here 2) graduated decades ago and 3) should have better things to do with her time than tell us how to live or what to believe. No. One. Cares.

Honestly, that's just rude. If you don't like her opinion, keep yours to yourself.

So she can spout off her opinion but we can reply only if we agree? When someone who is ill-informed and whose daughter has experienced less than one month of Greek life at Mizzou tells us what we should do and think, you bet I'm going to comment. She is basing her opinion on what she reads on this cheesy website and is taking it as fact? And then delivering a lecture about it? Really? And you think I'M rude? If she had spent even one minute in a sorority on this campus she might have some credibility, but she hasn't. I wonder if she tells her friends, neighbors, church members, co-workers how to live their lives, too, or if her insults are just reserved for Greeks at Mizzou.

A Troll is the only person who would have a negative thing to say about the OP's comment. She is an adult. Perhaps you should join her.

you dont know that. what adult would post on this, honestly?

Let the OP say how she feels and be mature enough to respond in an adult like manner without using profanities and a rude tone. Getting your point across in a mature, responsible lady-like manner is something we all should be able to do at this point in our lives!!!

Get off this website, Momma. Don't you have something better to do than spend your day reprimanding people 25 years younger than you?

News flash: anyone can read this website. I've been reading it for 7 years. I get PAID to be current, and I'm a 57 year old woman. I'm also a current and alum parent. Being "current" is my job, I get paid to know the 18-25 year old market.

I had a daughter graduate from Mizzou, and one still there. Sometimes, I know things before they do because of this site. I read TFM, TSM, etc. I'm on twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Reddit, etc.

What's my point? The OP probably a is mom, not some random drunk girl jerking your chains. Did you think you were "alone"?

You're not just speaking to other sorority women.

Others are watching.

What a rewarding job that must be. Not. I couldn't imagine being 57 and finding any stimulation or professional satisfaction in reading Greek Rank all day. First of all, this site hasn't existed for seven years. Second, there isn't an agency or marketing firm in the world that would pay a 57-year-old to "know" the 18- to 25-year-old market when they could just hire Millennials at half the salary. So, nice try Momma, but it really is time for you to stop obsessing about something that couldn't possibly make a difference in your sad life.

If I ever turn into this pathetic woman, someone please shoot me. When I am 57 years old, you couldn't pay me enough to come on this website.

@tubad

If you truly believe what you wrote, you really should get off of this site and enroll in Business sororityegy courses. Study and read business journals. Milliennials are paid "half" because that is what their knowledge base is worth in the market.

I do study and read business journals and, because of my capstone project am current about business strategies. In today's marketing, advertising and PR firms, millennials are very much in demand because they can best communicate how their generation uses technology and social media to inform their buying decisions. And I assure you, there isn't a successful marketing or advertising firm who would pay someone to research what millennials already know. This woman just likes to nag and tell people how to live their lives. Can you say p-a-t-h-e-t-I-c? I agree, it's time for her to get a life of her own and stop reliving her college years on some third-rate campus.

No matter so many people on this website are out of touch with what's actually happening in our greek community. We have 57 year old women, mothers, alumni and all sorts of craziness up in here. How can you stay "current" when you're not even in the system we're talking about? You have no clue what's happening here.

Ok, here is another mom. I am reading this site to figure out what my daughter will be getting into at MU in Greeklife. I am not impressed at all. To all the young college girls with comments, save them. I won't be looking here again. I have tried to keep an open mind about sororities but this site lives up to my already low opinion.

by: ha!

You use a tacky site to form an opinion about your daughter's future? Doesn't sound very responsible to me. How about this? Let her make up her own mind based on conversations and facts with real sorority women. Do a little research on the GreekLife website that shows how the grades of sorority women are superior to both fraternity men and the general Mizzou student population. Find out a little bit about Greek philanthropy and how it raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for local and national charities each year. Talk with sorority alums about their lifelong friends who are also their sisters. And, for God's sakes, stop living your daughter's life. She's 18 or close to it. Time to step away. And perhaps work on your own life since you have a tendency to be overbearing, rude, misinformed and jump to conclusions.

I think this original post is one of the saddest things I have ever read on this site.

by: memememe

I don't think some 57 year-old woman wrote this at all. It probably was some suckup sorority girl who thinks he is better than everyone else.
