call 911 - axo & adpi

by: Worried

Why were there ambulances called to both ADPi and AXO last night? We all heard it was alcohol poisoning. Way to welcome your new members ladies! How scary! ChiO did this last year and got in trouble. What will happen to these houses?

Way to start rumors about 2 houses that had strong recruitments this year.... That doesn't scream malicious or anything! Get a life.

This isn't funny. When two sororities have ambulances at their houses, it is cause for alarm within the Greek Community. Sorry, I have nothing against ADPi or AChiO, but I also think it's a horrible way to start the year. Why can't people drink responsibly or welcome their Babies in more civilized manner???

Damn I heard chi I and tri delt also had multiple babies go to the hospital. But in all honesty, every house has girls at some point that this happens to.

It is not the responsibility of the active women in the chapter to babysit the new members when they go out. It's college, we're all adults now. If you can't handle your liquor or know when to stop, then that's on you.

A sister shouldn't turn her back on another sister, either. Especially a freshman who might not have a clue about how alcohol will affect her.

Do we even know what really happened? All this speculation is not helping anyone. The OP posted trying to appear concerned, but it just starts rumors when there is no real information. If anyone knows the truth please speak up.

Well something bad happened. We didn't all just dream up the flashing lights and EMS personnel that were at ADPi & AXO. And if ChiO had alcohol issues with their babies for the 2nd yr. in a row, shame on them! Some freshman have had limited exposure to alcohol, may be trying to "hang" with older members and may also be encouraged to consume way too much, which is deadly. These are not rumors. They are concern by the Greek community.

Here's what I don't get. ADPi, Chi O, and AXO are all good houses. I think we can assume these babies were social and outgoing in high school. So how do they not know how much they can drink before going to college? If you were at least decent looking and friendly in high school you were getting invited to house parties. It just baffles me.

NO ONE is saying ADPi, Chi O or AXO are bad houses. People are just saying "Come on people! Be responsible! Watch out for your sisters, especially your new, younger members!" And some people DID NOT drink in high school but may feel obligated to now, especially around the older girls they worked so hard to impress all week. It's just amazing that ADPi and Chi O can't learn their lesson.

can you honestly say you had access to as much alcohol without any repercussions of driving or going home to your parents house in highschool? My partying in highschool consisted of some beer and whiskey .... but we didn't have 50 handles of vodka/whiskey/rum readily available to us. Not to mention, there's how many fraternities, how many east campus / off campus parties. It's easy to get caught up in it, drink way too much way too quickly -- maybe you're not used to the fast paced shots mentality. IT's not that hard.

And I agree -- it is your job as an upperclassman to not look after JUST your babies, but all of your sisters. It's called watchcare, and if we took care of each other a little better there'd be less trips to hospitals, less girls waking up in someone's bed and claiming they don't know what happened... take care of your sisters, and your friends. It's your social responsibility as a human being.

Why are you bringing Chi O into this? The flashing lights were at AXO and the babies don't live in house so it had to be an upperclassman!

The flashing lights were at AChiO & ADPi and the babies were invited there to "pre party." The upperclassmen should have been more mature & concerned about the girls they worked so hard to recruit. ChiO was mentioned because it's a reoccurring event at the ChiO house.

Excuse all of you because I know a girl who lives in the ADPi house and she said that the girl that got her stomach pump had been out partying with other freshmen in different houses and brought her back to the ADPi house after she started becoming unresponsive. The in house girls immediately called 911, that's why the ambulances showed up. Don't assume these girls who drank themselves into oblivion were all out with only their sisters because it's not the case and ADPi and all the other houses handled it well. No deaths, we should be thankful everyone was safe.

Let's be honest here -- I don't care if you're in my house or not, or hell if you're not even greek -- NO ONE should just leave a friend like that. Take care of each other and watch out for one another!! I guess I'm a rare breed in seeing a girl who is too drunk that I don't know telling her she might want to slow down, or ask her if she's ok or if she needs me to call her a ride. I found a girls wallet on the floor of a bar last night and I stopped and handed it to her -- how many of you would do the same thing? God, this world has no compassionate people left in it. Anyone who is selfish enough to turn their head isn't practicing being a good human being and officially is a horrible person in my book.
