suiciding info

by:

I want to suicide Sigma Kappa out of my last three houses but I've heard a lot of conflicting info on suiciding. Some people say it drops you on the bid list for the house you're suiciding and some girls say it doesn't affect it at all and you only don't get a bid to that house if you weren't on their bid list to begin with. Is it different for every house? Are there are girls who are in SK or suicided before that can clarify this because I'd rather suicide and make it than have to go to bid day and pretend I'm happy with one of the other two and then just end up rushing next year or in the spring.

As someone who was once on the "inside" PLEASE don't suicide. it does drastically drop your rates.
We have a great greek system ad every house is amazing.. If you can't see that then you probably don't deserve to be in our greek system.
Trust the system & let the chips fall where they may.

You have more of a chance of getting into your top house by preffing all 3 then by suiciding..
& if for some reason you don't get your top house.. stick with the house that picked YOU! Because that's just that.. they wanted you for you.. That should mean something.

By suiciding, you are not "maximizing your options", therefore, your spot on the bid list will be dropped around 40 spots. If you're at the top of their list, then you will be fine. If you're at the mid to bottom of the list, then you won't get a bid. The system gives preference to the girls who maximize their options. I would put all of your houses down, and if you end up with your bottom 2 you can always decline the bid. They say you can't cob once you open a bid but that is never checked upon and I know so many people who cob'd after opening a bid. Best of luck!!

This is all good advice. If you like Sigma Kappa the best then pref them first and hope you get them on bid day.

I am an sk. DO NOT SUICIDE. If you had amazing conversations with us and seriously clicked with at least one of the girls you probably will get a bid- but not if you suicide. I know a girl personally in our house now who suicides sigma kappa on bid day and didn't get a bid. She ended up cob ing later.... But I am flabbergasted because she is gorg and smiley and I have no idea why she didn't get in the first place. Just don't do it

How does suiciding reduce the chance someone would get a bid to SK? It will lower your chances of a bid period. But how does it lower the chances for SK. Other than not being eligible for quota additions.

The system is designed to give preference to girls who maximize their options. So if you suicide, you automatically go lower on bid lists than you would if you maximized your options. Pref all 3 houses, and if you don't get sk and absolutely know you want them (although really you should give the others a chance- you only talked to a handful of girls out of hundreds, I'm sure you'd find friends in all the houses) then you can drop and try COBing in the spring.

Suiciding hurts you in every house, the system is designed to benefit women who pref all their houses and do not suicide. A lot of girls think that suiciding can't hurt them if they're doing it for a "bottom tier" house but it hurts you all the same. If you like SK the best, pref them first. I don't know what your other two houses are but you should rank them as well and give them a chance if you get them on bid day.
