The thing is...... Gphi isn't a top house. The only reason why they are top is because they put on a good recruitment. Other than that they aren't TOP. What is their philantrhopy? What are their grades? What did their involvement look like??

I agree that DG is climbing back up and I also agree with you about the other houses you mentioned as top.

BUT I'm sick of hearing that Gphi is "top" because the only thing they're top at is tricking girls into thinking they are something they're not during recruitment. Sorry but they don't get enough crap for the stuff they do every year. How many girls have they had to remove or ask to leave because of c.oke? It's just ridiculous.

Also, I agree with the fact that we should even care about top houses because NO ONE cares once recruitment is over. I promise you that.

I realize this was meant to be a positive post and it is, but you need to leave house names out of it. Many people don't believe in top houses becauE there are too many houses that are comparable to each other and just hearing their names together is insulting.

Yes, It's all relative. There's a difference between rah rah types and other types of cool people I think. There are girls who don't feel comfortable with cutesy nonsense and are fun in a different way. That's why some aren't interested in tri delt , chi o types of houses. Not everyone is the same.

Never though of PiPhi as the rah-rah type. I think of the top three, Delta has the pretty girls, ChiO has the serious girls and PiPhi has the free spirits. So not all top houses are the same just like all bottom houses aren't the same. People can find a place, though, because we have so many good houses, and within each house are different types, too. Agree??? Disagree????

I can tell you for a fact tri delt and pi phi DO NOT get every girl they want lol. Stop being so gullible. Just trust me when I say that I have a close friend who has these statistics. Pi phi and tri deltas return rates are roughly 89-90% by pref day. Which is the same as theta, adpi, kappa and gphi. Chi omega is the only one consistently above 90.

Those houses might not get every girl they want, but they get close to it. I won't say which house I'm in, cuz you probably don't give a hoot, but I will tell you that of the 75+ girls in my pledge class, probably 70 of us preffed our house first. My roommate was in another house, I won't say which one because then you would key in on who they are, but she said the majority of HER pledge class preffed something other than where they wound up -- with most of them choosing ChiO, Delta or PiPhi. And there is NO WAY that Kappa and GPhi have the same return rates as Delta or PiPhi. Nowhere close. Those numbers are out there; who are you trying to fool?

You are severely misinformed then. Because gamma phi as well as kappa pledge the same girls as pi phi and tri delt. In fact, they take from each other. So while you can sit there and act like pi phi and tri delt are superior to the world, you're so terribly misinformed. Many girls who wind up in delta preffed gphi first. That is a FACT. Girls really like gphi during rush, their boyfriends tell them to go gphi or tri delt, they feel more at ease on gphi during rush... I would venture to say they do just as well if not better than delta. Kappa and pi phi? Similar houses as well. I've met at least five girls who suicided kappa over pi phi (some of which kappa did not offer a bid) because pi phis pref day just was too much for them. Which let's all admit if we've been to it, pi phis pref day does send people to other houses because it is pretty uncomfortable. So no, I'm not going to buy anything you're saying. Gphi and kappa retain just as well sometimes even better than their rivals. And that is just a fact. I'm sorry that you hate gphi and kappa. I really am. But I am informed unlike you and I know that just because you wish they were worse than they are doesn't make it so. Gphi and kappa are two of the top recruiting houses we have.

Tri deltas looks would be so average at other universities. There are far more average looking girls in here than accounted for. I personally don't see the pretty hype.

I agree. All made up and dressed to go out there are some pretty Tri Delts. but some are borderline average. I do not understand the hype when so many houses have so many gorgeous girls. Seriously.

I am so confused. I had 11 on third day, but got 5 today- 3 of which I had rejected on day 2.... But still have my first choice. GPA 3.8, lots of leadership and activities and am told I am pretty .. not sure where I went wrong - If I don't get the first choice back tomorrow, I think I will drop out. I can say I haven't felt I could be friends with a single girl I have met in the other houses..... really confused by this process.

That's on the same level as bid promising and hot boxing.

You're allowed to say, "It was nice to see you!" Or if the girl is a returning PNM you can say, "Nice to see you again!"

But you can't tell someone you want to see them again. Something Chi-O is notorious for doing.
