by: ZoucrewChiO is known nationally & especially here at Mizzou for dirty rushing. It's been going on for decades, they've received warnings & slaps on the wrists from Panhellenic but PNMs deserve to know. Basically, if you have decent grades & a pulse, they will straight up tell you or heavily insinuate you are going to be invited back. Or that you are on the first bid list, etc. When a PNM hears this, they are likely to not cut ChiO & then ChiO can brag about their return rates or how they rarely get cut by PNMs. Consider yourself warned.

ChiO is notorious for doing this, true, but other houses do it, too. I cut Kappa fairly early in the process but they drooled all over my roommate, who was told she was "high on their list." And then they cut her before the last day. I've heard similar stories about DG and GPhi. I guess they all want to boost their return rates, but the word is officially out that their promises mean NOTHING. So, PNMs, be forewarned.

my roommate was devastated. the president hugged her on her way out and was like cant wait to see you back.. and even emailed her saying that it was a mistake that she was cut and she wanted to be friends? and that she was at the top of the list?? how do you make a mistake about someone who is apparently at the top of the list?

Should ChiO be ashamed for lying to PNMs & dirty rushing? Of course! But Mizzou Panhellenic & Greek Life should be more ashamed. They allowed this BS to go on for years regardless of how many complaints they've received from students, alumni, PiChis, etc. about ChiO and their antics. Its gone on so long ChiO thinks they are "above the law.".

The girls rushing PNMs are supposed to act nice, bubbly, and hopeful to all PNMs during rush... Those rushing the PNMs are supposed to make them feel wanted and accepted. Just as the the PNMs are supposed to keep and open mind about what chapter they wish to join, the women rushing them are supposed to keep and open mind and treat everyone positively who comes through their house at as well. Every young woman going through rush has believed that they were "loved" or "really wanted" by a certain chapter... It isn't dirty rushing; it's simply part of the process.

This happened to a handful of my friends a few years back. They were all promised bids to make them hopeful. In turn, they preffed Chi O number one and not a single one of them got in. Obviously, that is bull and extremely unfair to the PNMs. Sad thing is, they are going to continue to do it and just accept the wrist slaps by PHA because to them it's worth it to "have their pick" of girls in the end. Hate to say it, but it makes sense.

I had the EXACT same thing happen at Theta. Girls kept telling me I was "the perfect Theta" and that they "couldn't wait to see me on bid day." Saying stuff like this is against recruitment rules and I just wish more people would complain to PHA so these houses would stop getting away with it

I'm from CoMO and had heard all about the ChiO dirty rushing tactics. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have a great recruitment so by 7 party day, when the ChiO girls were pouring on the compliments, telling me all about bid day & basically showing me where my room in the house would be, I acted like I was all in. Then I cut them & it felt like I beat them at their own game.
