im going through recruitment in the fall and i am paying for everything myself. I was wondering which houses if any are too country clubby or designer wearing because im not going to have anything that screams wealthy during recruitment. i am hoping that it doesnt hurt my chances

I went through rush last year and Theta and Gphi asked me what my parents did for a living soooooooooooooooo I think its safe to say its a common mistake

Asking what somebodies parents DO for a living is a very normal, ice breaker type question that gets asked in every house. But being asked how much they MAKE is tacky.

Personally, I didn't report it because I was afraid PHA and my Pi Chi's wouldn't believe me and I didn't have proof, so I just took the advice of my roommate and bottom ranked the house that asked me and moved on with rush. I guarantee you that's what almost all the PNM's who get asked that question do.
