Will wearing cute ae high waisted shorts (not extremely tight) on one of the more casual days with the provided t-shirt be frowned upon?? Or should I just stick to j-crew chinos?

Something tells me you should be more worried about your GPA than your shorts.

It's really not a bad thing at all. As long as you put it together nicely and it looks classy then it's fine. Just make it cute and like something the girl you're chatting with would be like oh that's a cute outfit id wear that.

If you can't plan your own wardrobe, much less stand on your own two feet and make your own decisions while on your own, we don't want you. Why not start being an individual right now rather than having someone tell you what to wear. (Def. not top tier material).

The girl can't decide between white shorts and khaki shorts and you are saying any deviation from the norm will make her stand out in a bad way? Who's the uppity snob??????????????

Last year we had a PNM who brought her long board with her to every pref party and I remember her because she matched her long board to her outfit. So it wasn't conventional at all BUT she looked put together and made sure the outfit was cohesive, long board and all.

As long as you look polished and pulled together, I say go for it.
