alpha phi & zta
by: Mizzou18Hi I was wondering how hard is it to get a bid from ZTA or Alpha phi?
#1by: Easy hard
Aphi would be harder. Aphi is an upper mid tier house. Zeta is easier because they're a low bottom tier house. Unfortunately for zeta recently they haven't been able to keep new members, no one is quite sure why but the assumption is that they are struggling. Zeta at this point will have to take anyone willing to join just to raise their numbers, they won't be able to be selective at all during recruitment this year. Not good.

There is so much about the above post that just isn't true. First of all, Alpha Phi is improving, but it is not at the top of the middle tier. Its members are nice and often pretty, but their grades are a disaster and it's a pretty one-dimensional house. Second, Zeta's retention problems aren't any worst than Sigma, Phi Mu, SK etc. And they are struggling less than any time in the past five years. Can't imagine why someone would say those things.

With a good GPA and extra curriculars, either house is relatively easy to get into. Alpha Phi might be a little harder because they're trying to tier jump currently so they are probably going to focus on looks a lot. However neither house has a super high GPA cut so if your GPA is great then that will always help.

Zeta had to cob over 20 girls which is unheard of for an established house on campus. That tells me something is very wrong going on in the house if they are having to fill that many spots. I wouldn't say zeta focuses on grades, they have had better grades recently, but their grade history is really poor. I would say aphi and zeta are ranked equally in the world of academics, neither have really anything to show.
