How hard is it to get into a house like tri delta or pi phi? What do they look for during recruitment?

PiPhi is very selective, but tends to take smart, pretty girls who defy the sorority stereotype. They are very much their own person. Delta tends to take pretty, popular girls who, in many ways, ARE the sorority stereotype. Both are hard to get into, but for different reasons.

I'm a girl who is in one of these sororities and who got cut from one of them on the first day. All I can really say is you end up where you end up because of who you are, as cheesy as it sounds.

It's pretty difficult to get into either of those houses. Those two, along with theta, ChiO and ADPi, have the highest return rates during rush. That means they are consistently preffed ahead of the other houses. They each take a certain type of girl and you have to have something to contribute to each house. But don't set your sites on just those two (or five). Give every house a chance and you likely will have a great time during rush.

Quit scaring the hell out of PNMs. I went through recruitment last year & was by all accounts, probably like 80% of the girls who go through I had a 3.5 GPA, 24 ACT, normal activities (sports, Student Council, etc) am fairly attractive & outgoing. I was just myself & didn't over analyze everything. I also appreciated the time every house spent trying to get to know me. Guess What? I never got cut from one house. I was fortunate enough to make the decisions. So, I didn't find ADPi, Delta or PiPhi any harder to get into than most other houses. I cut ADPi early on-nice enough girls, just not a fit. I kept Delta through 7 party day & went to PiPhi on Pref Day but didn't list them 1st. I LOVE the house I choose but could have been happy in about 8 different houses. Be yourself & ignore this site. It's full of misleading info that will confuse & intimidate you for no reason!!
