What types of problems? No, I understand. Facts are facts.

Well for one their internal relations are struggling and have been for years. My goo friend that's dropped zeta this year said their chapter meetings were literal screaming matches and nothing ever was resolved. They had to Give 20 spring bids out (which is unheard of especially when houses rushed for about 80 girls in the fall- that means they lost a LOT of members). Their grades have improved, but they are atill under all sorority average. Those are facts. As for opinions, they just don't have a good reputation around campus. I have personally heard them bad mouthing other houses openly in public. They don't care what people seem to think of them, but to be honest they are not very respected on campus if at all. The girls I know in house have all either dropped or are miserable and are only in it to put the leadership on their resume.

There really isn't anything wrong with zeta. There are a lot of weird girls who have weird personal issues with zeta from being cut I'm assuming that get on here and rant about their "internal issues" that are actually quite confidential. So unless you're a zeta yourself there's no possible way you know of any real significant issues arising within the house. That would not be tolerated. Ignore the zeta stuff. Like every other house they will probably not accept a junior unless you are just out of this world.

^ typical zeta response. Hunny, your house couldn't afford to cut girls even if you wanted to. Retention numbers don't lie. There's a reason no one likes zeta and it all starts with your ignorant "better than you" attitudes. Haven't you ever wondered why out of all the bottom tier houses, all of the houses are newer to campus (sk, sigma, phi mu), except zeta?? Something is up on the zeta house for sure no matter how hard they try to hide it. Piece of advice, if you want to move up out of bottom tier, don't bash the better houses around you, earn your way up by gaining respect because right now you don't have any.

I am a zeta and absolutely love my chapter! I am not sure who your friend was but to be honest, it sounds like she has never been to a zeta chapter. I've been to almost every chapter for a couple years now and I can honestly say that not one chapter has had screaming or has ever disrespected a sister. We play fun music at the beginning and EC has a PowerPoint up to inform the chapter about upcoming events. Actually, everyone is pretty mellow since they are zoned out from school and other obligations throughout the day that no one really participates lol.. As a junior I am still wondering what our "many internal issues" are as made popular by this site...
Anyways, we are working really hard in improving our grades (Now the 9th spot!), trying to become a competitor in homecoming/greek week and are continuously improving our philanthropy events! To the poster above, I am sorry if one of my sisters was talking about your chapter. Some of our girls can let their competitiveness get the best of them so please do not judge our entire chapter on that mistake. Take it as a compliment because that girl obviously thought of your house as a threat so keep it up!
As far as retention, we lost exactly 20 girls and then COB'd 20 girls. Most were seniors who graduated early, next were transfers (we have a lot of transfers since zeta is awesome nationally...) then financial expulsion and finally, hate to say it, but there are always a handful who just don't make the effort to make friends or involve themselves. With anything, you have to put in some effort to reap any benefits.
To answer your question, I have heard of other chapters taking juniors. However, I am not aware of us having taken a junior in the past few years... Does not mean that we won't though! I strongly encourage you to participate in fall recruitment to truly find your home!

Not true. In real life zeta is portrayed even worse. They're just not a good house. They have terrible relations with other sororities!!

Everyone would rather be in Zeta if they had to chose. Nobody wants to be mooed at when they're wearing their letters which is exactly what you get in Phi Mu.

But they don't get mooed at anymore? That happened like 6 years ago. Really classy, guys. Keep perpetuating a dying stereotype. I personally would prefer a strong sisterhood over a continuation of high school drama as a Zeta.

I don't have really good friends in the greek system, and my aunt was the only greek in my WHOLE family. There is no where to go to get answers besides GR?...
