Shady Recruitment Consulting
by: True?!
Um this was in another post…is this true?!
Post:Tri Delt actually has seniors that started a “Rush Consultant” company this summer. Just like they have At Bama. They charged girls to meet with them through the summer and coach them. Girls thought it would give them an advantage. They saw these girls videos and resumes before anyone. Then those same seniors participated in rush and kept the girls they coached that they wanted. They basically coached them right into or out of Tri Delt. And charged them money! So unethical.
Response: I heard that too! A PNM from a nearby blue valley school in my phi chi group was talking about a Tri Delt that she met with over the summer as a paid Rush Coach and that girl was still at sorority house recruiting and on the field at bid day so she must have been a senior. She said the Tri Delt worked for a company and worked with a lot of incoming freshman. Pretty sure the girl got Tri Delt bid too! That has to be a MAJOR recruiting violation.

That’s what our house heard too. 1-2 seniors or more from Tri Delt. Ran or worked for a company that did Rush Coaching. A PNM mentioned it to some other PNMs in her Pi Chi group thinking nothing of it and just giving them some information about how voting works, etc. that came from the coach. The Tri Delt said she wasn’t affiliated with sorority anymore and the PNM believed it, but then the Tri Delt was at house during Rush and on bid day. PNM that brought it up, was just mentioning in passing to some others including girls who ended up in other houses and those PNMs the told their new chapters. Should be easy for PHA to investigate asking all PNMs about Rush Coaches but we all know they never will.

I would think this is a big deal except: A top house wouldn't take someone who is so insecure they spend their time and money working with a "rush consultant." The best PNMs let their grades and activities speak for themselves. And why is it these TriDelts couldn't find legit internships that actually lead to respectable careers? There's not a recruiter in the world who would look favorably on a senior who thought it was a good idea to be a "rush consultant" instead of working in something related to their major.
