Who Votes During Rush?
by: GGWho votes on who gets dropped from a house and who is kept? The girls my daughter talked to at her favorite house since day one loved her, and one even reached out afterward so disappointed and surprised she didn't see her at Pref. WTF??? When I was in college, the girls you actually talked to had more of a say. This process is ridiculous.

The ones meeting people on pref rounds are the ones that vote. Maybe they were pulled for pref round and that is why they didn't see each other. The goal is to meet as many house members and see if they are all a fit but the pref round women make the decision. If they had the ability to reach out after, obviously they are friends.

The exactly process is going to vary by chapter and is secretive. There’s only so much room on the invite list for pref, and it’s likely other girls just ranked higher on the list because of a combination of the girls they talked to and her resume/grades. It likely wasn’t them intentionally cutting her, just the way the numbers lined up.

That's not true for every sorority, each decides it differently. Often it's a chapter decision, not solely up to the one meeting the pnm, and it always depends on the chapter's assigned invitation number and the order of the pnm's on the invitation list, and how those pnm's ranked that chapter.
