Choosing to suicide a sorority

by:

I had a super wonderful time during rush until sisterhood. I was cut by all my top houses but one. I went to two today but suicided. Now I’m scared that wasn’t a good move

It is a scary chance to take. Let us know if you get the call from your pi chi.

I know it was scary but I think it was the right move. If you can't see yourself in the other chapter, don't sign the MRABA that you'd take it. You would question your choice for at least 4 years.

If it doesn't work out, try to COB your top choice later in the year

Good move if you cannot see yourself there! Unfortunately, once you suicide bid I believe COB is off the table but could be wrong if that house does not work out!

by: yeah you can COB

Actually COB is allowed if a pnm SIP's and doesn't get the bid, because there's no violation of the MRABA in that case. But if she does get that bid, then she's bound to that agreement for a year.

Did the same. The second house I went to during pref is totally fine and somewhere I enjoyed philanthropy round, but by sisterhood I had realized others would have just been a better fit. Got invited to my top choice, but the others I really loved cut me. Do I think I would have been just fine in house 2? Yeah, but I don’t think I would have loved it enough to be a good and involved member and I would hate to have potentially taken the spot when another girl would love it and go all in. In the end it worked out, but I got very little sleep from worrying about my pi chi calling me in the morning, and was so happy when I ran home, but physically I was exhausted. Hope it all worked out for you too.

How could you have possibly made that decision without knowing who is in your pledge class? It's a sisterhood, hun. It's not about the house or the upperclassmen already in the house or the reputation. It is about the girls who see around you on the last day when you are at your last visit to the house, and only that. The women you see could be your bff's for life. But you didn't see it that way. Wonder how it turned out?

I am so grateful my daughter decided not to follow thru with this process. Now she's free to not be judged 24/7. Choosing girls based on 2 hours of talking to them and seeing how they "fit in" with the rest of these Lululemon/Shein clones? Nice to see nothing has progressed since I was in college.
