Holding Greek Week was Insanely Insensitive
by: Ex GreekConsidering a Mizzou brother and student has been missing for two weeks (now found deceased)…you’d think someone would have the decency to call off or protest Greek Week. Shame on literally all of Greek Life for holding this event in the name of service when the greatest service you could do right now is pay some respect to your dead peer. Where is the common sense? Y’all give Greek life a horrible name, keep it up ig.

Agreed. Everyone on campus acted like nothing happened. I am sure they didn't cancel GW because they cancelled last year. Also TKE holding formal the following weekend in Nashville (from what I know) is just as bad. Time to cut back the frats and impose the same rules sororites have to follow for social events.

Do you not realize who benefits from Greek week being held? I promise you the unsaid “quiet part-“ the meeting girls aspect already happened WAY before Riley went missing. They could’ve cancelled the events, sure, but cancelling the whole thing would mean cancelling a giant blood drive, canned goods drive, profit shares for philanthropy, and other community service events. Regardless of whether or not the service aspect of it is just for PR, you can’t just ethically cancel everything at once because it impacts more people than just the Greek community

Riley’s parents haven’t even heard from his frat. Y’all are saying they can’t up and cancel these events but they didn’t even do the bare minimum and extend sympathies and apologies. What horrible people. Probably not saying anything to avoid legal repercussions. Own up to your mistakes.
