Here is the thing... I never really noticed until now how bad this actually was. I know Gphi and Tri Delta are considered your HOT houses, but I didnt really think that would steer guys in such a ridiculous direction.
my friend was head over heels for a boy in (not mentioning frat name) and he really liked her too it was obvious. Shes BEAUTIFUL and smart and funny and in a really great house but yet the second this even average looking, basic tri delt came along he dropped my friend like she was nothing simply for the NAME tri delt. Theres no way it was for anything but the name because this girl was the most plain looking, boring, slightly overweight person i knew. If she wasnt wearing those stupid triangles across her chest you wouldve thought she was a GDI. Its like boys here are just a bunch of insecure social climbers who think that just because a girl is in tri delt or g phi shes automatically a trophy. Its just not cool. You can crush on a girl and get to know her and really like her and make her like you too but because shes not a tri delt or a gphi she is suddenly not good enough? grow up boys, this isnt high school. There are hot girls everywhere. Just because a girl didnt like tridelt or gphi during rush and opted for a classier more down to earth house doesnt mean shes not worth a boys time. this is nothing against either of these houses at all, there are some wonderful girls in both houses. I just think boys are entirely too hung up on a name.

It sounds like guys aren't the only shallow ones here...What if, god forbid, this guy just actually liked the girls personality instead of just her looks? If your gorgeous friend sounds anything like you, I probably would've moved onto another girl, regardless of house affiliation...

I see what she is saying because it is true. If a guy had to go on a blind date and he was told to pick from a pretty Theta or an average Delta, 9 times out of 10 he would pick the Delta. But then again it goes both ways. Give a Beta or a DU to a girl she would probably pick the Beta. Its not that DU or Theta are bad houses. In fact theyre both awesome houses. But its human nature to pick the one with the affiliation. And yes, it is a very high school thing to do but I think everyone is guilty of it.

Y'all are acting like all of this matters. We have someone who is complaining because superficial frat rat drops someone because of their sorority affiliation? Why in the world would it matter what some dumb SOB loser does? She's lucky to be rid of him. He did her a favor by showing his true colors early. What I can't figure out is why the writer blames Delta or GPhi. Let's stop the hatred toward other women, because this is so clearly the fault of some guy. Oh, and note to writer: there are pretty girls in every house, there are plain girls in every house. What matters most is your heart and your compassion. You seem to have neither.

Yeah it is actually really hard when guys to your face say that gphi and tri delt are the hottest houses. I was talking to a guy and thought we were going to be exclusive but he got an invite to that infamous "tri phi" party and we haven't hardly talked since then. There's more to people than looks....just saying. Yeah a girl could be a hot gphi- doesn't mean she has a good personality....

Wait, what? You just said there is more to people than looks. Then you go on to imply that someone who has good looks may not have anything else. If there is more to people than looks, it goes both ways. Assuming that someone who is "hot" is automatically vapid is exactly as awful as assuming that someone who is "not hot" is automatically less worthy of attention.
There IS more to people than just looks. Whether those looks are pleasing or less so, you should get to know them as individuals before you make judgments about them.

It's just college and none of this BS will mean anything in a few years. Guys are extremely immature and women are much too emotional, drawing conclusions and over-analyzing everything. Just be yourself and in time you will find someone who appreciates you for who you are. It's not the fault of GPhi and Delta, it's the fault of guys who are still impressed with superficialities. Give them a chance to grow up.

Any man who is going to ditch you for another girl just because of her letters isn't worth your time. Now if a guy starts talking to another girl he likes better and she just so happens to be a Delta or GPhi, then that's just a coincidence. Believe it or not Delta has very smart girls too, you don't get top five in grades by having a house full of morons.
