There are no bottom sororties just bottom frats. And COB isn't a status, it's based on numbers and graduating Fall seniors in addition to what our nationals say we need to have in house. Get over yourself. Anyone is lucky to be in any of sororties.

I'm not sure you would want to join a sorority that always COBs. Generally these are the houses that lose members due to flunking out or dropping out, whose juniors and seniors are not loyal enough to keep paying dues when they no longer live in the house and whose national panics when they go below full capacity. That indicates a house that isn't on very firm financial footing because, let's be honest, the most stable sororities on this campus are swimming in money - and it shows. Stay away from houses with retention issues.

If you regard December graduations, study abroad, and internships as "retention issues" then you don't deserve to be in college.

This is exactly why no one should take anything on this site as fact. Sorority members don't just pay dues like this idiot implied, we have requirements. Let's take homecoming, shall we. We have points we have to get, a large number of pomping hours and must attend several activities. Greek week the same. We also have weeks that we raise money and promote our sorority. All but 2 COB'd last spring so it's common especially with almost all of us close to total. We all usually take like 8-12 women to make up our graduates and inactives. Inactives care about our sorority but have class load that limits their activities and thus, they go inactive. For example, most nursing majors go inactive because it's to much with clinicals. Or someone has to work and go to school and just can't afford it anymore so they go inactive. One semester left and no longer want to participate, they go inactive.

COB means absolutely nothing about a sorority. We are all close to total so why not keep our numbers high. Unlike frats who are begging for members, we are ALL picking our PNM.

Stop spreading false information. You must be in a frat if all you do is pay dues so worry about your dumpster fire of an IFC.

^^So you are saying women leave their sorority because they don't want to help with homecoming or philanthropy, or participate in Greek Week. That's some terrific sorority you have there, full of people who would rather quit than be part of what a sorority stands for. And you are saying that's why a house always has to COB? Because their members don't care enough to stay. Not sure that's a stellar argument for COBing being just fine. As for nursing majors (or education majors) going inactive because of clinicals (or student teaching), that's BS. In a good sorority without financial issues those women are excused from participating. And not being able to afford it? The expenses are all spelled out before joining. If you can't afford it, don't join.

Your twisting and deflecting doesn't work here anymore. Any sorority woman knows better. You obviously don't know a single nursing student who chooses to go inactive. Not all sororities will excuse every activity. You would know that if you were in a sorority. You would also know a lot more. And you do realize not every member is here on Daddy's money. Most of us work and contibute. You are either a super old alumni, a spoon fed rich kid or just clueless.

How about we sororties stop dealing with frats untile the pull their weight. You know frats who do maybe 10 hours of max work to our 50+ hours per member for homecoming and Greek week. How about Kappas just wind homecoming alone because we all know it's Kappas that win homecoming, not the frat. Then maybe our sisters with clinicals didn't have choose.
