Although they’re probably the nicest women in Greek life, Kappa Delta is in no world a top 7 house. It would widely be considered GPhi in the top 7. Whether we like it or not, it’s a highly desirable house during rush and many go into the week with their hearts set on Gphi. That’s just the truth.

GPhi is no longer top 7. If you went here you would know this. KD pulled off the impossible with an outstanding pledge class last year and has taken the whole campus by surprise. Not even sure how they did it but they did and with the new house for next year, they have bumped into the the top 7. This is an accurate list for 2023.

Not only is KD a top 7 house, they are extremely well liked all around campus. What they have done in the past few years is amazing.

There’s definitely 7 houses that most girls wouldn’t drop if that was their final house, and then there’s 7 that girls might drop if it was their final house. That’s the key distinction here. The houses most girls going through recruitment would probably be satisfied to have on their bid card and are hovering around the same level from a general desirability standpoint are (in no particular order) -

Tridelt
Gphi
ADPi
Pi phi
Theta
KKG
Chi O

To be clear, all the houses are truly fantastic, but this is just statistically true. These are always the houses that see the fewest immediate drops on bid day.

GPhi is all over this site trying to convince us that they are top tier. Get back to us when you start instituting grade cuts and when you aren't desperate to COB.

Gphi is a top 7. It is what it is. They recruit exactly who they want, they don’t take leftovers except maybe a handful from tridelt. It’s a looks house and that’s pretty much the only qualification - as shallow as it may seem, a lot of young and naive PNMs will gravitate towards that during recruitment, even if they realize it’s all smoke and mirrors later. They’re always a popular during rush and COB. That’s just the hard truth

I guess it honestly depends on the context. If we are strictly talking about a “big 7” in terms of initial desirability during formal recruitment, Gphi would likely win. However, in terms of long term retention and satisfaction of their members, KD would beat Gphi (and most other houses honestly) by a long shot. So they’re interchangeable in the big 7 depending on the context
