Theta Maneater Article

by: Zou

The Maneater covered a story about Theta's first VP of DEI and how she was treated. This is the second soroity (AXO was the first) in less than a year featured in the Maneater about racism within deeply rooted Mizzou sororities.

Thoughts on how that will impact recruiting in the fall?

If I am being honest I don’t think it will affect theta. Many girls who join sororities are white and don’t care about being inclusive to others.

What exactly is a "deeply rooted" sorority?

I just graduated and went alum in my sorority and I am…not shocked. I was in a sorority that was not Theta or AXO and we had HUGE racism problems and micro aggression problems. I almost dropped three years in but here we are…Most of these white girls don’t care about racism though

If you were in a house that doesn't care about racism, you were in the wrong house. I eliminated several houses early in the recruitment process because I got MAGA vibes, and wound up in a place where we not only care about our sisters, but others as well. There's no place for recism at an institution of higher learning.

i don’t think girls look into it as much as they should, so sadly most girls won’t even know about these things going into recruitment.
