rushing as a transfer student

I am thinking of transferring to Mizzou in the fall and I will be a sophomore. Will being from really far away (Boston), not knowing anyone in frats and being a sophomore hurt my chances of rushing? Is rushing frats about who you know in them...because that would be a huge disadvantage for me.

It depends on the house! mainly no because mostly every house at mizzou has people from all different parts
