Is Delta Zeta coming here?

God, I hope not. It's a pretty pathetic excuse for a sorority. Mizzou deserves better.

I hope so. DZ is one of the top NPC sororities in the US and very well known. They will definitely be a great asset to our Greek Community.

They may be well-known, but there isn't a campus in the nation where DZ is the top house. They thrive on quantity, not quality. Mizzou can do better.

In response to the other comment, how on earth can you speak for every university in the United States? I have tons of friends who go to Northwestern and DZ is considered a top house there hands down.

Is strong (though not necessarily top) at LSU, IU, and Miami of Ohio (their Alpha chapter).

DZ has a great national reputation. It also is one of the biggest NPC sororities. IU, Miami of Ohio, Texas State, LSU, Alabama, UNLV, UNCO, Ball state, I can list a lot more schools where DZ is a top tier sororities. Mizzou sorority girls need to get over themselves. Such an embarrassment as Greek life.

I guarantee you that most people outside of greekrank would tell you that having DZ (or another new sorority/fraternity) potentially expand is a great thing for this campus!

That's what they said about sigma, and look how well that turned out for us. Oh btw, both sigma and SK competed to establish a chapter at Mizzou along with DZ. DZ has still not been invited to charter here. There must be something iffy about DZ if they've tried to colonize twice and Mizzou keeps saying no...

Sigma got the charter first because Missouri has more Sigma chapters than any other state and they tend to do very well in Missouri. SK got to colonize next because they already had a house here and DZ doesn't. DZ will come to campus next, within in the next five years. DZ nationals are crawling on this campus, I see them in Memorial all the time.

Mark my words, they'll buy Richmond place out or wait for Phi MU to lose their charter and then they'll buy the space out, renovate and colonize.

Why would phi mu lose their charter? They're the top of bottom tier. If anyone goes it's sigma closely followed by zeta. Those houses are hanging on by threads.

I can see ZETA closing in the future because their sisterhood is nothing but a massive train wreck, But didn't Sigma just built a new house? Isn't Phi mu fairly new to campus. What is the deal with them.

If anyone goes it'll be sigma. They don't have enough girls to fill that expensive mansion. They will close for lack of interest and financial trouble. Or we may be seeing zeta close - they also have a hard time retaining members and are known for a poor sisterhood. However, zeta is a big house nationally, no matter how crappy they are here. Their nationals will continue to dig them out of debt. Can't say the same for sigma though.

I only said Phi Mu because of all the rumors going around that their charter was getting pulled. As far as I know, they're just rumors. Regardless of who goes first, if anyone goes, DZ will buy their place. But I'm sure they'll buy Richmond place first.

Phi mu is actually one of the oldest chapters on campus but they left years ago to participate as nurses in the war and only recently came back

Phi Mu won't close, they have enough girls join every semester and they are improving in the quality of women who join. Phi Mu's strong sisterhood appeals to the girl next door, nice girl types. They may not be bombshells or above average but most of Phi Mu's new PC from Fall '13 are actually decently cute and all very sweet.

Sigma is having trouble filling their house but they also got a surprisingly good PC compared to what they usually get. Sigma is focusing on quality, not quantity, and using COB to get more quality girls that fall through the cracks in rush and honestly, I think it's working for them.

ZTA used to be top of the bottom but their egos got to their heads and now their massive sisterhood issues are threatening to sink them. Most people already consider Phi Mu a better choice than Zeta and if Zeta isn't careful, they'll sink right to the bottom.

SK is up in the air. There are rumors that their sisterhood is shaky and a lot of alleged SK's got on here and blew a ton of secrets earlier in the year. If those secrets are true and SK is losing as many girls as was claimed on here, SK is in trouble. However SK just colonized and I know their nationals would pour money into the chapter and send down help before they let this chapter sink after two years active.

If any house is closing soon, it's Zeta or DG, mostly because DG is a train wreck and their nationals are embarrassed of them.

By: Closing
by: ..

DG and ZTA aren't going anywhere. At least they can fill their house, make quota and grades. Sigma, phi mu and SK cannot even do that. Nationals are not going to pull anyone's charter based on suspected sisterhood issues. They will however pull charters based on a severe mishap or not enough members to pay the bills and profit from.

From looking at both chapters social media, it seems as though both make a substantial amount of money for their philanthropies and zeta won a national chapter award as well as an award from PHA. DG also has a really strong alumni chapter who would never let them get kicked off. Plus, they are making huge strides in the community such as hosting the Elizabeth smart event which was very successful. I wouldn't say that their nationals are embarrassed by these two at all...

Oh my if zetas nationals think their Mizzou chapter deserves a national award, that is really sad. What does that say about other zeta chapters across the nation? I thought zeta was stronger in the south, but if they think Mizzou is the strongest chapter they have, I cannot honestly day I will be recommending zeta to any of my friends going to school in the south. That is really really embarrassing for zeta on a national level. Wow, just wow.

SK made over quota for Fall and so did Phi MU. Sigma is the only house this year that didn't make quota and SK and Phi Mu are colonizing because their houses are smaller than the others, but for Fall Rush they both made quota.

Missed quota in formal, but only by five spots, whereas last year they missed quota by 20-something. They killed it in COB this year, though, and ended up with more than 100 new members.

HAHAHAH such a funny comment about DG being a top tier everywhere. Sweetie, I can list a long list of where DG isn't so top tier.
IU, OU, Texas State, UNF, so on so on. Get over yourself. You really think being a hot skinny blonde DG is going to get you a job after graduating from college? GOOD LUCK

I keep seeing people commenting about nationals that they know nothing about. Do any of us actually know what Zeta or DG's nationals think, feel, want to do, etc? Nope. Because none of us are in those houses. So I think it's pretty shi-tty for people to make these accusations against 2 houses that have been at elast trying, despite their problems.

I would agree. I just more hate on certain sororities. Everyone should just mind their own business and let whatever happens...happens. End of discussion.

A big reason why SK and Sigma could come to campus at Mizzou is that they could afford to build a house here. That has a lot to do with chapters being able to colonize, based on their nationals and how much money they can back them for.

I'm personally a DZ thinking of transferring to Mizzou because I heard there may be a chapter starting. After reading this thread, Mizzou should be off my list. If you guys are any indication of what everyone else is like. You're embarrassing your school by acting so judgmental.

As for the "quantity not quality" remark, my current pledge class is less than any sorority pledge class at Mizzou. And I guarantee we're closer.

I think Delta Zeta would be a great sorority to have at Mizzou based off of the values Delta Zeta is founded on. You guys seem like you could really use a chapter who recruits based off their firm values and not looks.

I think it would be good to add another sorority. With 2000 girls going through formal recruitment and each house only being able to take around 90 girls at the most, having 16 houses could benefit a lot. I know of so many girls who got cut or slipped through the cracks who would be a good asset to many houses.
