Where you thought you’d be vs where you are

Just curious for those who had an idea what you wanted going into rush vs where you ended up. I’ll start even though I went in super open minded. I thought Kappa or Chi O would be a good fit but got cut by one and ended up a Zeta.

I'm a Kappa legacy and thought I wanted that house, but after lots of hand-wringing and tears, I instead chose PiPhi and I am thrilled they chose me. Not sure my mom will ever speak to me again, but I chose the house where I felt most comfortable.

Considering how being a legacy doesn't matter very much, Kappa must really have wanted you. But you have the right to choose your sisters, not just do what your mother expects. Welcome to adulting!

I went in not knowing anything. After philanthropy I thought I wanted Theta but happily am a Chi Onega baby!

From the first day I felt very comfortable at AXO. Happy to have made it through to the last day and that they picked me. I feel as if I already have good friends here.

I'm from out of state and I had always heard that you have to know women in a house in order to get a bid. I knew NO ONE, in ANY HOUSE, and I am shocked about how welcome I felt and how well recruitment went for me. I don't want to say which how I'm in, but it's better than I ever imagined. If any other women are reading this from out of state who have doubts about joining a house, give it a try. At least you don't have people actively working against you!

i thought before i started the rush process and even during open house i would want to be DG bc i’m a legacy, but AXO was the first house i ever visited and immediately felt calm and at peace. everyone made sure i was comfortable and all my anxiety melted away. no matter if you’re at a party or in class or just walking on the street AXO girls will always be friendly and there for you. so yeah now i’m in alpha chi and couldn’t be happier :)

I think AXO had a very good recruitment. But I worry that you wanted DG going into the process.

I wanted TriDelt before rush even started but changed my mind drastically and am now a ChiO and thrilled

At the beginning of rush I thought Gamma Phi and Tri Delt were for me but fell in love with Chi O and Theta. I ended up one of them!

I dropped when I saw what my choices were on the last day and couldn't imagine myself there. It was a difficult decision but it works for me.
