COB is a process that chapters can use to recruitment more women during the school year. “Total” is the maximum amount of women that can be in a chapter (set by Pha) and chapters that are under this number of members can sign up for COB. In the fall, this process is usually quieter and a few chapters may take a couple people. In the spring it is more common, and many chapters have a spring bid day with 8-15ish women. Many of this bids are going to friends of members and people that they already know will be a good fit. This is why I wouldn’t rely on COB to join a sorority. You never know which chapters are going to do it and if they always have people in mind for bids. You have a higher chance of getting a bid in normal fall recruitment.

The chapters that are participating will be listed on the PHA recruitment website. This is a more laid back process than fall recruitment, and may not be loudly announced. So, if you are interested in COB keep an eye on the website.

hey… hope you haven’t dropped… especially if you’ve made it this far! don’t give up now: you are so close! COB is tough to count on… it relies on new members dropping, people transferring out of mizzou, graduating at mid year, or deciding to go early alumna status / deactivate. Many houses (even some considered “top” houses) have or will participate in COB at some point or another. They may have room for as few as 3 new girls or as many as 15. It just varies.
