what if i don't get a bid
by: High school seniorHow likely is it that I will get a bid? I have a 3.8 gpa, I was in my schools pep club, national honor society, the tennis team etc. What happens if I don't get a bid ? Will I open an empty envelope or does everyone get a bid? Thanks for your help.

You will get a bid. If you really are who you say you are, some mid tier or top tier house will take you. If you weren't to get a bid, which is unlikely, you would get a phone call the morning of bid day or whatever day throughout the week you had no houses left so you would not have to open anything. Most girls will get bids. The reason the statistic says only 1/3 of girls get bids is because many of them suicide (meaning they only pref one house on pref day and that house doesn't pref them back), drop recruitment all together because they decide it's not for them, or they simply don't like any if the choices they have left by pref day. So basically, most girls who don't drop themselves will get bids.

On pref day you will have a maximum of three houses to choose from or less Depending on how your recruitment went. Of those houses, you will put them in order from the one you want to be in the most to the one you want the least. If your first choice wants you as well, you will get that bid. If your first choice doesn't want you but your second choice does , you get a bid to that house. And the same thing for your third if you have one. So to answer your question, you will only get one bid no matter how many houses want you on pref day.
