How hard is rushing as a sophomore? Are there some houses that cut all sophomores?

One girl said friends told her she didn't get invited back because she was a sophomore. One girl told me out of the 7 houses she still had, they were all good houses. It's harder as a sophomore because it's harder to get good grades in college. A 3.5 is a 3.5 no matter the grade.

Okay I'm going to be straight up here. I know 3 girls who all rushed this past year (Fall '13) all sophomores, and all absolutely GORGEOUS! They all had at least 3.5's or higher, and super friendly and outgoing. Hell, they're the entire package when you think of a good sorority sister. All 3 girls are always seen out on weekends with top tier houses, but NONE got bids from good houses. The first girl didn't get invited back to any good houses so she dropped midway through rush, the 2nd girl got dropped from the majority of the houses, suicided for a top house (the only other house she had left was phi mu so naturally she had to suicide) and didn't get a bid, and the 3rd girl preffed a top house 1st, and an mid-low tier house 2nd and got a bid for the 2nd house, to which she declined the bid. Rushing as a sophomore is SO MUCH HARDER than people realize. Although I like to say during rush that we don't judge girls if they're sophomores, the truth is that most houses are going to bid freshman first because they'll be in the house and paying dues longer than a sophomore will. Not saying it's impossible for a sophomore to get a bid from a good house because it's been done before, but not as likely as a freshman.

I rushed as a junior with a 3.3 college GPA and got asked back to Kappa, Chi-O and Delta after first round cuts. So it's really a case by case basis.
