Ugh again?? This gets asked over and over and really the response doesn’t change much and the drama of arguing accuracy never ceases. However, this is a general expectation…let the arguments begin.
Tier 1 (alpha order - don’t get bent)
ADPi, Chi o, Pi phi, Theta
Tier 2 (alpha order)
Alpha chi, Dg, G phi, KD, KKg, Tri delt, Zeta
Tier 3 (in order)
Aphi, Phi mu, Sk, sigma
Keep in mind happiness can be found at any house. So don’t exclude and get focused on Tier 1. Too many people do and each of those houses only have 70-90 spots (depends on final numbers) to fill and 2000+ come in to rush. Sorority life is what YOU make it. So PNMs take heed and just try to enjoy the process and getting to know all the houses you get invited to and find your place and stop focusing on tiers, please!!!

While the rankings above are quite accurate, only you can decide where you fit best. You're in college now. Time to do your own thinking instead of following the pack. On the last day I had a top tier sorority and a mid tier to choose from. I just couldn't see myself in the top tier. I didn't make a real connection, but was most excited every time I returned to the mid tier house I liked best from the first day of recruitment. I did the unimaginable. I suicided the mid tier house and I definitely made the best choice for me. On the other hand, I absolutely DO NOT recommend suiciding. Just. Don't. Do. It. Because there is a more than 50% chance you will wind up without a house.

No Illuminati (though I appreciate the reference). Tiers are pretty much based on return rates, retention rates and selectivity. The best houses are more selective, more diverse, more focused with higher standards. Thanks for asking.

To potential PNM… try not to pay too much attention to crap on this site… when you go thru the process, you may find that you love a “Tier 2” or… gasp… “Tier 3” house. Where you feel the most yourself is where you belong. Just be yourself, be open minded, and everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. Trust the process. Best wishes and hope you end up at one of the houses where you feel like you can be you!
