Formal recruitment as sophomore
by: YoHow much harder is rush as a sophomore? Do any houses not take? Any tips on standing out as a sophomore?
#1 by: Take your chances
It's not as easy getting into a quality house as a sophomore, but it can be done. The good news? Your high school gpa and accomplishments (or lack thereof) are no longer considered. The bad news? Only your college record counts. So you'd better have a great GPA and be involved in activities. Extra points for leadership. I guess my point is that you never know unless you try, so why not try? What have you got to lose?

I rushed for the first time as a sophomore mainly because I wasn’t interested in going through the process online when I was freshman and most events were online anyway so I didn’t see any point. I went in with no expectations and even thought I was going to get a “bottom tier” sorority because I was older than most pmms. I ended up getting a “top tier” sorority and have loved my experience so far! Being a sophomore does not do any harm or benefit when it comes to rushing. The only difference is that they’ll look at your college stats rather than high school and you’ll have conversations about college experiences you’ve already experienced rather than for a freshman what they are looking forward too
