Recruitment cuts
by: PNMWhat days of recruitment are cuts made? Also is there a certain GPA that usually keeps you safe from grade cuts? Are ACT scores taken into account at all? I have heard that first cuts are usually grade related. Is that true for the most part? I know conversations and interactions are the most important for getting a feel of a good fit and making it into a house, but was curious if there were any automatic cuts made. Thanks

Each house will have a standard grade expectation and most take that into consideration at the first round of cuts. Official cuts, meaning the invite back to a house happen after each round; Open House, Philanthropy, Sisterhood. However, it should be understood that it’s a very complex process and every sister you met during your time at a chapter has an input on their experience with you. So a couple of take aways are to make sure to have quality interactions whenever you can and bring your authentic self. It is important to find your best home and not just seek to be in a “top” house. You will hear over and over to trust the process, but it really is true. If you bring yourself to this with an open mind and don’t get obsessed on specific houses before the process starts it will all work as it should. If you come with a set plan and a narrow mind I promise it will be disappointing. Everyone, including sisters, are stressed, exhausted and nervous so take a deep breath and just try to enjoy the experience.
