Unsure if I’m allowed to register for recruitment
by: Hmm
Long story not short, I’m going to be a student a part of the tiger pathways. Google it, on the admissions website. Essentially its a program for students who were denied admission to Mizzou, but have access to work with academic advisors at Mizzou while attending MaCC and the neat thing is we get access to Mizzou service, like residential (I’m moving into the dorms on the Mizzou campus and even have a roomie, she’s an official Mizzou student though ), dining, and student orgs, which I assume includes Greek life. You do this for two years then can bridge into a Mizzou degree program and earn your bachelors. I really wanted to be in a sorority, and was crushed when I got denied from Mizzou because I knew that couldn’t be one of the things I experienced. Was accepted to another university that I liked but I knew the Mizzou experience is want I really wanted so I opted to do this..
My roommate and a few other people I trusted to tell this thought I should rush. My gpa in high school was a 3.2 but my ACT score was actual garbage and I can’t even say what it was, I’m just super nervous when it comes to standardized testing. Was involved in a lot of things too, so it’s not like I’m an awful student, just kind of unlucky and trying to work through a rocky path to get where I want.

I think that your priority should be to work on your grades, actually enroll at Mizzou and go through recruitment as a sophomore. Your social life shouldn't be your main focus right now. I doubt you would make it through recruitment and you wouldn't want that to work against you in the future.
#4by: Really?????
The fact that you are more concerned with joining a sorority than improving your grades says a lot about your priorities, and why you are in the situation you are in. Mizzou accepts most people who apply. the fact that you weren't one of them means you aren't exactly sorority material. Time to get your act together academically. Harsh, I know. ABut someone had to say it.
#5by: So…
You are allowed to register for recruitment and early move in with your mizzou student ID if you’re in the tiger pathways program. Though I’m not sure how the process will be, you certainly are able to register if you’d like. I believe that surrounding yourself with girls with good grades and motivation could potentially help you get your grades up for when you transfer full time to mizzou! Good luck!

Why would you even try to get into a house right now? You won't exactly be an asset to a sorority since you didn't even qualify to get into Mizzou. Work on your grades, actually enroll next year and give it a shot. Your priorities should be purely academic at this point.

This is the right advice. Focus on getting into Mizzou, getting the best GPA you can (this is what you’ll be judged on during sophomore year recruitment), and making friends.
