anorexia/eating disorders group
by: asking for helpHey guys, since this is anon I just wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about the anorexia/bulimia support group at mizzou. Or if theyve been, what it was like. Have a good night everyone

My advice is to be very careful about going through Mizzou to get help. I know it sounds bad to say but last year I went to a free counseling session over my suicidal thoughts and they ended up calling the police to transport me to the University Hospital without my consent because they deemed me a danger to myself. I was there for nine hours, I was not allowed to call anyone to let them know where I was. I was ultimately released but they said they were allowed to hold me up to 96 hours if they thought it was necessary.
Support group wise? I think the Women's Center would be your best option to find out about programs like that. They've been super involved in the Eating Disorder Awareness Week this week and I'd bet they have plenty of resources for you to use.
