sigma and phi mu
by: Truth?
Rumor has it that Phi Mu has lost their charter because of their grades and Sigma is losing their house because they can't afford to pay for it. Is there any truth behind these rumors? I know I've heard the Sigma rumor for a long time but my friend is a Sigma and she said they're having trouble filling the house because nobody can afford to live there.
Does this mean that we'd only have thirteen sororities for fall recruitment? I just have a hard time believing the rumors because Phi Mu just got a COB class and I don't think PHA would let them if they were losing their charter.

I also have a friend on next year's waiting list to live in house at trisig. From what she has told me, they have a new members class of over 100. 75-80ish from recruitment, 20 from fall COB and they aren't finished Spring COBing (at least the last I heard) - so it could be closer to 120? Their house has around 60 or 65 spots and there is a list based on multiple criteria - like exec board, grades, seniority, etc. So apparently there are alot of girls nervous that they won't be able to live in next year. As for this year, the only thing I can think of is that 2012 was the year Sigma was substantially under quota. So yeah they probably had a problem filling this past year, but that isn't the case for next year. I asked her if the cost hurt them. I told her that everyone says it is soo expensive. She said it is about 4500 a semester which includes sorority dues, housing (rent), and a meal plan. That's less than my sorority. So I'm not sure where all the "It is so expensive" stuff is coming from. Just thought I would clarify. So many rumors are on here. Some may be true. Others are just started to make houses look bad. My Trisig friend is a sweetheart and extremely proud of her pledge class sisters - says their class is amazing. A little sisterly PHA clarification, i thought would be nice.
As for Phi MU - the sweetest girl ever lives 3 rooms down. She has said nothing about a charter being pulled. So all I can assume is this is also BS.
