rush questions

by: Hssenior2

I'm a senior in high school and really want to rush in the fall, but I'm worried about my GPA being really low. I have a 3.0 on a 4 scale now. Can you get cut from certain sororities for grades? If I click with a house will that overcome grades? Also any other advice on rush would be appreciated!

^^^ wow way to be pessimistic. rush can go anyway.. the smarter houses that focus on grades will obviously not be accepting of a 3.0 but some of the houses not as concerned with grades will be willing to accept someone that they connect. you should definitely try at least and see what happens!

You still have a chance at top houses at 3.0 and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. I know girls who got into theta with a 3.0 and 2.9. I know a girl who got into Adpi with a 2.8. I'm not saying it's easy - your personality and involvement better be out of this world. But it is possible if you really, REALLY click with a house.

If you can't do better than a 3.0 in high school, perhaps you shouldn't think about rushing. You wouldn't be an asset to any house because it is unlikely you can do better grade-wise in college than in high school. Perhaps your first priority should be studying, not rushing.

Seriously get over yourself. a 3.0 is a perfectly good GPA, who the hell are you to tell someone not to rush because they have a B average. Personality is just as important in rush, and by the way your commenting, I'm surprised you got a bid at all. My GPA sky rocketed from high school to college. I have almost a 4.0 at Mizzou and I never came close to that in high school.

To the girl who wrote this question, just make sure to end your senior year with great grades! Enjoy rush week, let your personality and great qualities shine and you will find the perfect house for you! Good luck! :)

Sweetie, if you don't know the difference between "their" and "there," I'm not sure you're top tier material.

Ok just because someone was probably typing fast and typed the wrong freaking form of there does not mean you have to crucify them. You are so immature "sweetie"

What's considered a good GPA?

I would say 3.5 would be a good HS GPA. Our house cuts grades at 3.2 and we're known as "mid tier." A lot of the top houses want at least 3.5 or higher.
