How does saying if you didn't go pi phi you would've gone kappa have any indication this is a kappa? Are people not allowed to say they would've gone kappa if they didn't go pi phi? You guys look crazier than kappa

I'm a Chi-O and if I hadn't been a Chi-O I would've gone Theta or Kappa. Believe it or not some of us had several good houses to choose from which made the decision difficult and the houses we didn't pick might still be second favorites for us. It doesn't make anyone crazy.

What's your obsession with calling all houses crazy? it's odd. Do you just enjoy throwing all the heat on other houses to keep it off yours or something? What makes any of these houses even crazy at all? You're basing your opinion off maybe 1 or 2 girls you know out of 300... If you even know anyone at all. If they were actually crazy they proooobably wouldn't be on campus still. Do you mean to tell us nobody in your house is crazy because if you're in it, then that's a lie.

To the poster who wished she'd been a KD or Phi Mu, I totally get it. I'm sick of my friends asking, "OMG did you just eat THAT?" or whatever. I LOVE how Phi Mu is all about sisterhood. Not looks, not grades, not involvement, just each other. Not saying their other areas aren't strong or getting stronger, but common, ladies, we know Phi Mu's reputation. They really don't care what others think, and I think if they stay true to themselves, they can become a powerhouse at MU. But for now, sometimes, I wish I was Phi Mu. Honest to God.

This is NOT going to be popular, and I know some people will really tear me apart, but I'm being 110% honest. I am kinda sorta not quite yet in a sorority. I went through in the fall but I cut houses I shouldn't have, then got cut by everyone, and dropped when I had 2 houses left. I signed up for COB, but it didn't work out how I thought it would. But this is my opinion. I ended up rooming with a girl who went DG. I really liked her and all her friends, which surprised me. I cut DG in rush because I heard rumors about them. When it came time to COB, I was hoping for anything, but really hoping that my tie to DG could get me in there because I really want to be Greek and I know these girls. They are fun and laid back. I have a not great GPA, and I didn't get a bid through COB to DG. BUT, I did meet girls in another house that I had left during rush, but chose to drop. I think it will work out there (I'm not disclosing the name for anonymity), and I'm thankful for the opportunity to be Greek and get to know these awesome girls that I overlooked before. I know it's working out for the best, but I have no ill feelings towards DG, and I'm over joyed to start sorority life in XYZ. Just goes to show, I prejudged 2 great houses that I know I can be happy in. If I could have gone anything, it definitely wouldn't have been DG or this current house, but I would have made a mistake because those are the 2 I could see myself in now. And now I do get to see myself in 1 of them everyday!

Um, WHAT? Did you idiot-speak like that during recruitment? It's more likely they cut YOU. W/E

I think Super Honest is saying that by not having an open mind during recruitment, she kept herself from what she now knows could be the perfect home for her. Congrats for having the guts to see now what you missed during fall recruitment. I'm assuming you are hoping for a bid to a house you are COBing and have discovered it is perfect for you. Being Greek is all about what you can bring to your sorority, not what they can give to you. I'm hoping it works out well for you and you are happy in your new greek home! Rumors are just that-Rumors. College is all about thinking for yourself and becoming your best self. Sounds like you will have the right attitude! Good luck and PHA love to you!

What I think she is saying is that she thought she was God's gift, but no decent houses agreed. So she didn't do well during rush and wound up without a house. And even though her roommate is a DG, even that couldn't get her into a house. But she really wants to be Greek and she'll take anything at this point. Yet still feels the need to rationalize.

This is the OP, that's not what I was saying at all. I didn't know anyone in rush, or my room mate going into it. We were assigned, I am not from Missouri. So I went through and had a lot of hard cuts, and I made a common mistake of dropping rather than face 2 houses I couldn't see myself in at all. I had a hard first semester since I didn't know anyone and as a result had around a 3.0 GPA, which didn't help when I signed up for COB. What I was saying is that I learned that I judged 2 houses too quickly, and I realized through my room mate/COB that I would be happy in either. And I am going to be happy in one of them. I think it's important to share stories about hasty judgements and how they aren't accurate, and always to keep your options open because a lot of good can happen if you do.

And to the 3 people that commented above for not understanding my post, I really don't get what was confusing about it. I tried to explain a little clearer this time, so I hope that helped. Although I think y'all were a little rude about it.

Also I forgot to add, to @great, thank you SO much for your kind words. I'm really happy I realized I was wrong and am getting a second chance. I appreciate the encouragement. I'm really excited to officially be joining Greek life shortly!

I'm not a greek member, but if were going to be one, I'd want to have to choose between Gamma and Chi O. The nicest girls that I have class with are in these two houses.

Gphi. I suicided them on pref day and didn't get a bid supposedly because I was a sophomore going through rush...All my friends are in the house and I still hang with them all the time, but it would nice to say I was one too.
