Thoughts after this round?

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are after philanthropy round? Although I have heard a lot of excited talk, everyone's opinion seems to be quite different on who they really vibed with. I guess that's a good thing, since not everyone is going to get the same house :)

Sigma Kappa's fund raising for Alzheimer's Disease Research impresses me since the disease impacts my own family. Delta Gamma and Pi Beta Phi also have philanthropies that I respect a lot - sight and literacy, respectively. Those 3 were standouts for me.

pnm, I agree with you. Sigma Kappa, DG, and Pi Phi did show a lot of pride in, and enthusiasm for, their philanthropies. I think all the causes supported by the sororities are important and worthy; but there was a real feeling of sincerity in those 3 houses.

Philanthropies that spoke to my heart personally were Gphi and KD. They’re were about empowering young girls and that speaks a lot to me. There’s still a lot more time and other great houses I’m considering, but I’d be all smiles if by the end of the week i get a bud from either of those two.

Following up! I was lucky enough to get invited to both for pref round! I’m going to be running home to 606 or 808 in the morning, and I couldn’t be happier. Shoutout to every chapter in recruitment, because you all so graciously let check each of you out with open arms. Wishing a great day for all the others going through rush as well!

I think it was great to hear more from each sorority. Some were a bit more genuine and relaxed. I felt some personal connection to DG and ADPi. Both had very good presentations.

Philanthropies often are determined by a sorority's national. Don't choose a house based on its specific philanthropy, choose a house based on the enthusiasm and effort.

Really liked the houses that have the ability to have a hands on opportunity with their philanthropy.. Pi Phi, Kappa, Chi O, etc.
