I figured we should put all the COB comments and questions on this board so we have one central location for all things COB. Here's the lowdown on COBing from what I know/what I have read on this website.
SK, Sigma, Zeta and Phi Mu are COBing for sure. Phi Mu tables in the student center, you can get info there.
You can get into contact with SK for COBing by emailing skmucmc@gmail.com, their CMC is named Molly.
AXO, APhi, DG, and ADPi are rumored to be COBing but not that many girls.
The higher your GPA, the better your chances but if you have below a 3.0 then you might wanna consider raising it and rushing in the Fall.
COB starts the moment we get back through February so be sure to start emailing houses/talking to girls you know if houses you're interested in right now.
If anybody else knows anything or if any PNMs have questions then I vote we keep them on this board. So people don't have to keep fishing for answers.

Some houses, like SK, call it their CMC. Other houses call it their recruitment chair. Can any girls in COB houses weigh in here? I know we have the info for SK, anybody else know their houses info?

For Tri Sigma you just need to reach out to the recruitment chair or an active in the house who can then bring up your name to the recruitment chair!

I wanted to add to the positivity going on!
Its silly that COBing has such a "bad" rep- it is actually a way to get some of the best members a chapter can have!!! The women who COB usually are the girls who have taken the time to think about joining and have decided it is really important to them- which is probably better than some of the girls who just rush cause it "the thing to do".
They didn't re-do campus total at semester this year- which they usually do, which means that there are probably going to be a lot more houses COBing than in years past. Houses like Aphi, DG, Gphi are probably going to have a few spots.
The best advice would be to find the recruitment chair's information (on the house's website or something) and just e-mail them about yourself. If you have friends in the chapter it is a definite plus.
And don't get down if you haven't heard back yet- school hasn't even started- the RCs are probably not checking their e-mail religiously right now!

The thing about women who COB a house is that they know they want to be in that house. Unlike the Fall semester, these girls make the conscious decision to join the chapter instead of just ending up somewhere and sticking it out to "see if they like it" or not.
COB is a wonderful way to get new members and I encourage any women in any of the chapters that are COBing to give as much information on here as they can. Let's make this the start of changing our campus view of COBing. This thread has been so helpful and positive, I hope we can keep this attitude about COB up.

They take your word for it at first but if you lie, they will find out because they can get access to your grades. So being honest is your best bet. My house depledged a girl who lied about her grades.

We ask that COB candidates bring a copy of their first semester transcript with them when attending an event. The GPA we want from COB candidates is based on the chapter's GPA the previous semester - we don't want anyone with lower than the chapter's average GPA. Not the new member - the chapter's.

I've heard from sk. one of my friends didn't hear back from them but our friend in sk said they pulled out rush cards and if yours had something bad they didn't email...

I've heard from SK too, they've already pulled their cards and are asking girls to events so if you haven't heard from them you probably won't.

SK is having their events this week and then I think they'll be done COBing. My friend is an SK and she said they like to get it done quick and right at the beginning of the semester so the girls can get integrated and meeting people right away.

idk if any of this will help and i dont really know the COB process very well but i do know how recruitment works now so... they pick people that they think would fit in so IF YOURE DESPERATE TO BE GREEK act like the girls in the house. i know everyone says be yourself but idk when it comes to COB. for recruitment you need to find a place you belong but COB you know what you want so go get it(:

I know SK is doing events at the house, so I think you should dress cute but not too fancy and just make sure you are friendly and nice to all the girls you meet. Socialize, network and brag on yourself a bit without being desperate.

Yes. But I think you only have 24 hours to accept the bid before they give the spot to another girl. At least that's what they do in my house. I was a COB :)
