There are precious few people who have Kappa as their first choice. It has become known as the house made up of girls who don't get what they wanted. However, they do a pretty good job of compensating and in time they are proud of their house. Also, statistically speaking, ADPi probably belongs in the top category because people who wind up in this house more than 70% of the time have chosen it as their top choice. It doesn't belong with APhi, AXO, GPhi and certainly not with DG.

While I agree few people have Kappa was their first choice, I think Kappa is considered a respectable house to end up in. I think the only houses really frowned down on ending up in are DG, Zeta and Sigma.

Houses I cut --yes, I CUT all these on the first round (and to be honest, they cut me):

I didn't want to be a Theta because they seemed grade crazy. I cut all the "top" sororities because I knew I'd never fit in. I cut the next layer because they were weird (in my opinion) in one way or another.

I kept KD, Phi Mu and A Phi because they seemed genuinely nice, welcoming and kind. It wasn't an act, they weren't fake like the girls in the "top" houses, and I felt a sense of warmth in their conversations, and they seemed spontaneous, not like they were reading from a script. I ended up in one of my favorites from the first day, and I'm thrilled. ANY of those houses would have been fine with me, so OP who generalized "First choice houses" doesn't speak for everyone.

I ranked the houses after the first two days of recruitment like this:

KKG cuts a lot of great girls who would've loved to be in there. I can never get a read on why they cut who they cut but whatever. They're a really solid house.
