Looking back on the year

by: Nostalgic Already

Another school year is over, and what a wild ride. Greeks at Mizzou had to make unprecedented changes and some did better than others. Looking back, which sororities and fraternities, in your opinion, thrived in the past year? In other words, which ones really have their SHT together?

I think the best houses got better, like Beta and Pi Phi and Chi O, and those that were limping along kept losing ground. One house that seemed to make great gains, though, was Zeta, to the point that it is firmly middle tier. Probably because of its new house, though that doesn't explain DG's continuing problems.

I agree that Zeta did extremely well. I also think ADPi cemented itself as top or almost top tier. Lots of quality in that house. ChiO to me, however, seems to be just treading water and may be on the verge of losing top tier status.

Yep, Beta, Pi Phi and Chi O are solid top tier. The others honestly have fallen, while these went up.

Chi O just didn’t adjust well enough with all the changes. They had a not so great recruitment, and chi o had been thriving at Mizzou for so many years, and I think such a random fumble really threw them off. Zeta has surprisingly grown seeing them maintain such a strong sisterhood through the year, and their members seemed to so much more involved campus leaders. I can honestly say when I was freshman in 2017 people talked about whether zeta’s new house would be what they need to get back on track and I have only seen improvement. Adpi at this point has refined itself to the point where it’s just illogical to not consider them a top house. In fact i’m willing to bet they’re taking chi o’s place and chi o will probably be chilling in the middle the next couple years. The current structure of tiers in sorority is just naturally changing.

I think a top house is one that gets exactly who they want. They can pick and choose and they do so with great care. The result is a well-rounded house that is diverse in many ways. That's why I think PiPhi, ADPi and Theta continue to be at or near the top. While many other houses struggle to fill their pledge classes, the top tier houses get to design their pledge classes with nothing but quality. Nice to be in that position.

I agree. The best houses choose women with a range of interests and talents, who also are pretty and smart. That's very different from the houses who choose according to looks alone.

Pi Phi, Chi O, Beta, and DU set the standards as top houses.
Overall, there are more sororities than fraternities showing quality.

You're right about PiPhi, ChiO and Beta, and certainly correct that there are more quality sororities than fraternities. I would add Theta and ADPi to that list, and perhaps AXO.

Adpi has been out doing chi o the past 3 years. Chi O has not been performing you need to let things go... things change with time but chi o is just not bringing enough to be top anymore. Pi Phi and Adpi are the staple now. Chi O is kind of hanging out where Kappa and theta are now
