Is this how you get in to a sorority?
by: SaintluMy friend has a friend who went to the same HS as her. She bragged about being a legacy but then the sorority didn’t give her a bid so she dropped out. The girl’s relative (the legacy) made a bunch of calls and had her sisters start a email campaign about the girl not getting a bid. Suddenly she’s invited to a cob and gets a bid. Is that how it works?

Only in loser houses. We had enough legacies come through recruitment this year that we could have filled quota just with them. But no one would want to. We are really strict about the legacies we take and it's for their own good. No one wants to be a member of a house because they HAD to take you. That would be pathetic.

They might be in for a rude awakening if people in the house are aware of how they got in. I am sure many might resent being forced into taking her. In the end she may not have the experience she expected.
Many of the better houses could fill multiple pledge classes every year with legacies. Do you want the best for your house or not? Frankly some houses could use some new blood.

I have to agree. It’s really pathetic if you have to have someone make calls or send emails to get you into a sorority that didn’t give you a bid during primary recruitment.
