Girls who SK recruits

by:

I’ve truly puzzled with this but it seems like sigma kappa is able to recruit cute chill girls, but they draw in so many that seem to be borderline on whether they wanted to be Greek. I feel like I’ve met a noticeable amount of girls who have dropped them solely because they just hated Greek life, not because there was anything wrong with SK and ones who are like to hide the fact they are Greek. They’re such a sweet house and I think they deserve better

Haven't you figured out by now that there is no "Greek Type." There are women of all backgrounds and interests in sororities. There are women who can be 100% themselves in Mizzou's sororities and feel comfortable doing it. If someone quits a house it's not because they don't like Greek life, whatever that is. It's because they don't feel comfortable in the house they wound up in. The best houses welcome diversity - in the most general definition of the word (not just race). If they made a bad choice, they need to own it and stop blaming the entire Greek system.

I feel like they need to wear their letters prouder and encourage their girls to be have pride! They’re better than they’re give themselves credit for, especially for only being at Mizzou for the last 8 years.

I'm inclined to agree that SK is better than they give themselves credit for but I also feel that they're better than we other Greeks (sororities and fraternities) give them credit for. It was mentioned in a previous post that Sigma Kappa is doing well considering it's only been at Mizzou for 8 years. Actually, I believe that this particular sorority is in its 3rd presence at Missou (having been here in the late 60s and in the early 90s). How likely (or unlikely) is it that current members are aware of past failures to remain a viable MU chapter and therefore let the past influence their degree of pride? I do think they have done quite well in these last 8 years and could be proving that "the third time's the charm".
