Was first of all really shocked and confused on houses back on my list and ones that I was dropped from. Felt like my philanthropy convos with houses that am interested in went really well, but then my ask backs were not what I expected. Don’t get me wrong I still really am excited about a couple of houses but most of the others I just am not connecting with the ladies. It makes me concerned that my gut feeling it still off and I will get cut again from the houses I still want to continue to pref. I just don’t understand the decisions to cut girls and why it seems like there is no rhyme or reason. My pi chi has been great, I just am a bit overwhelmed, worried and stressed this isn’t going to go in the direction that seems best for where I feel connected.

Recruitment rarely goes the way you hope it will. You can be cut from a house for all sorts of reasons: grades not high enough, odd social media postings, someone already in the house who carries a grudge about you (or a family member!). And you likely will never know why. At this point, the only decision you have to make is this: Do you want to be Greek or not. If you do, stick with it and you might be surprised. If you are only interested in a few specific houses and they cut you, keep this in mind before you drop out of recruitment: If you were dropped it was for a reason and chances are that house wouldn't have been a good fit anyway. If you open your mind and open your heart, you might just wind up with the perfect match. And, let's be honest, isn't college about widening your horizons and trying new things? why not start now?

Love this!^! College isn't about following in your mother's or you sister's footsteps. It's not about fulfilling other people's expectations for you. It's about figuring out who you are and who you want to be. The sorority you choose, and the one that chooses you, can be a big step in determining that.

Hi! I had a similar experience the morning of sisterhood round, I think cuts are a lot harsher that round, and it might be a good thing. It allows you to really focus on the chapters that wanted you back. I know it feels bad to get rejected, especially when it feels like you had great convos. I wouldn’t take it personally, so many factors play into why girls get invited back. Just know that when it comes down to it, all it takes is that one chapter and the rest doesn’t matter once you get your bid. Hope you have a great day today:)
