Veterans of Fratville
by: My ViewSomeone mentioned recently that there are a lot of fraternities that have come and gone lately, especially since so many have been kicked off campus, like KA, SAE, Sig Ep, Farmhouse. What are some of the other frats that have been kicked off? And other than Beta, Sigma Nu, AgRho, what are some longstanding frats that remain? I am thinking about joining a frat and when my dad (a Mizzou alum who was in a fraternity) and I look through the list he just doesn't recognize many.

Some sororities have been on this campus 100 years: PiPhi, ADPi, Kappa, others? We celebrate that, so why would someone object knowing the same thing about fraternities. Also, when was the last time a sorority got kicked off campus?

Frats that have been kicked off in the past 10 years - some are back, some are not:

Sig Ep
Farmhouse
DU
ATO
FIJI
Sigma Chi
Beta
Phi Delta Theta
Phi Kap
AKL
Phi Psi
Lambda Chi Alpha
Basically, it's cyclical. It happened when my dad was in school here, it happened while my brother and sister were, and it's happening again now.

That's quite a list. No wonder so many of today's "top houses" are fraternities no one has ever heard of. They all will probably be gone in 5 years, too.

Some of these are missed, some not. Some are among the fraternities with the strongest nationals and it seems they have been replaced with much weaker fraternities, at least based on national reputations.

This is an anonymous website. How in the world would anyone know what someone uses as a subject line here? I understand that lots of people feel the need to say insulting things about each and every post, but, really, don't you^ have something better to do? I think it would be interesting to know the most established frats at Mizzou.
