getting in trouble with standards too much
by: TiredI absolutely love my chapter but I feel like I get in trouble with standards so much and it’s frustrating. I’ve messed up sometimes but now it seems like anything I do I’m being monitored closely and reprimanded for even insignificant things now and that I’m the “problem child”.. I’ve honestly tried to learn and change from past mistakes from last semester but idk if that’s making a difference to some.. I think the low was getting an email reminder of my expectations of conduct and what not to do at our upcoming crush party since I’m allowed to go that... it’s so hard to lose a reputation in a sorority.. anyone else with experience on how to lose a troublesome reputation outside of the obvious ‘stop getting in trouble’?

There is an old saying that goes something like this, "a good reputation is hard to get and easy to lose" You allude to in your comment that your mistakes happened last semester. All I can say is that, you have had virtually no time to build a positive reputation. You are just going to have to be vigilant and "stop getting in trouble" as you say and do it longer than a couple of months. Once you have demonstrated that you have changed, things will change. Time tends to do that.

I guess I do just have to wait patiently to earn some respect again. I’ll just keep trying and avoid past mistakes and continue my effort to be more mindful of what I do now. Thanks girl.
