There are different factors that go into determining what "tier" a chapter is in. Believe it or not looks are not the only one. You have to look at grades, retention, involvement, ect.

well are there grades retention involvement ect bad?

Very bad. They are typically bottom three in grades, terrible retention rate (lose a lot of their pledges in the first semester), and not very involved (although once in a blue moon they pull off a decent placement).
That being said, they are getting better. They stepped up their grades last semester so it's a good start. We will see if they can hold on to their girls this semester and keep their grades up. They're kinda in that weird limbo phase bw bottom and mid tier. Better than bottom tier but not good enough to hang out with the mid houses.

im actually a baby zta right now, and it was without a doubt my first choice during rush. i literally loved this house, and had no idea about any of the bad reps it has. the other day i stumbled upon this site and read the stuff, and honestly im shocked about the zta hate.
now i want nothing to do with zta and im honestly embarassed that i repped it so hard before. greek rank changed my entire perception of my sorority, and im trying to keep the girls in my pledge class from seeing it cause i know theyll feel the same way i do
right now i just want to drop cause i literally had no idea it was bottom tier and so hated

Just bc zeta is bottom tier doesn't mean it's a "bad house!" No house is perfect and maybe you can be the change that zeta really needs! If you love those girls don't let a site change your mind!! Stay strong, zeta has been making positive changes lately!

Would you rather not be greek at all?

It was my first choice too, and I didn't know it was so hated on here either. But they really are getting better, and you can be a part of that change. My sister did that at her school, and now has so much pride in her sorority because she was such a key factor in turning her chapter around, and they are now number one on her campus, even according to greekrank. Zeta has gotten better with grades, and from what I can see our retention of this pledge class is going to be great too. Please stick it out, and see what we can make of our chapter. Being a part of zeta I see nothing wrong with our chapter, I only see problems when I check this site, which isn't the most trustworthy place to look. Everyone has different opinions of everything, don't let people you've never met change your mind, work to change theirs.

That's good. Because it's important as a college student to ALWAYS let other people do your thinking for you and to NEVER have an original thought or opinion. Heaven forbid you should learn to trust your own instincts and become the best individual you can be. I know I always let anonymous blowhards influence me so that I can follow the pack instead of become my own person.

Don't listen to anything this site says. Most of it is people bashing on other houses to make their house look better or self ranking

While that is true, it's no secret which houses are more desirable and why. It's just hard for bottom tier houses to hear "they're not as desirable for such and such reason" is there truth to some things on here? absolutely. but to what extent?? yes some of it is exaggerated, but if everyone thinks you're a bottom tier chapter there are reasons behind it. Zeta struggles to retain members, make decent grades, be consistent in placing in competitions. that's the truth. The sisterhood issues and their crazy (not in a good way) reputation are opinions. yeah I'm sure it sucks to be known as "bottom tier" but wouldn't you rather be bottom tier than nothing at all? I think anyone who complains about a silly rank is just ungrateful for the opportunity they have to be a part of greek life. Not everyone gets to. if you pity yourselves on where you stand, then stand up and make a change. Your house doesn't have to be bottom tier if you work hard.

Zeta has been on this campus for more than 40 years. It has a rich history here and has a strong alumni network. When it comes to ranking houses, some are at the top and some are at the bottom (though I would argue Zeta is more mid-tier)-- but they are all worthwhile and all continue the strong Greek heritage at Mizzou. Lots of sororities have come and gone at Mizzou, but Zeta endures because it is a good house with something special to offer. Wear your letters with pride and pat yourself on the back for susviving rush, pledging a house and surrounding yourself with sisters who very well might become your best friends for life.

I hear a lot of new members drop...is this true? Do they cob a lot because of it?

^ it's true, they have a big problem with keeping their members. Not sure if it's truly because of sisterhood issues (since I'm not a zeta I can't say that, it's all rumors), or if it's because a fair amount of them can't make the grades to be initiated.

To set it all straight. Zeta lost 10 new members last year all due to financial issues and some transferring to other schools. Where Zeta loses its members lies in the junior class every year. The juniors all have rent bills from living in their own apartments along with increased difficulty in majors that equate to half of that pledge class dropping. They do not want to pay for zeta anymore and have already met their lifelong friends. Therefore, their nationals forces them to COB to fill the gap. I had to drop zeta due to financial issues but it was still the best decision of my life. Also, these sisterhood rumors are all completely and utterly false. It baffles me that people would even talk about a sisterhood that they aren't in. How can you even compare one to another if you haven't experienced multiple sisterhoods? Anyways, I am not even going to try to convince y'all that zeta's sisterhood is just fine because no one is going to care. People will still make up random things and still continue to type horrible lies. I just wanted to set some facts straight because when zeta is brought up, that is all anyone ever has to say.

We have the same problem with our juniors, sororities are definitely a financial privelage... They aren't cheap whatsoever. It's like when a couple friends drop, their whole friend group drops and that affects other girls to drop etc. it's one big domino effect. Sororities are much more similar than different from each other except my house's nationals do not force us nor care if we COB or not.
