sigma
by: WonderingI heard Sigma got a good pledge class this year. Has anyone else heard about this?
#13by: come on
No one in a mid-tier house would ask this question, or even care. Nice try. And good job posting the same thing three times. If you really wanted to know about Sigma's pledge class (and you would be the only person in a mid-tier sorority that would), all you have to do is ask/look around instead of broadcasting it on a website like this. How stupid do you think we all are?

Sigma, do yourselves a favor and get off this website. A few years ago DGs and AXOs were all over MyGreekGossip and it really contributed to their psycho image. Now those two houses are doing just fine and all the psychos have left, but you really don't want to get that reputation. Do you?
#15by: Why?
I did not originate this blog, but I did pledge a so called "bottom tier" sorority. To be honest, I pledged because I felt it was the best of the three choices I was left with at the end of recruitment week. I like the girls in my pledge class and the active members of the chapter, so I'm not exactly unhappy with my choice. But I can't help wondering why I was left with only the so called "bottom tier" houses on the final day of recruitment. I have better then average grades; a better then average ACT score; I participated in quite a few activities in high school. I wasn't a homecoming queen or cheerleader, but I was active in several clubs including an elected and active member of student council at a large suburban high school and I participated in sports. I also volunteered in the community and held down a part time job while in high school. I'm not bad looking, dress well, and I'm a fairly positive and confident person. I've told I have a great personality. So my question is this: Why on the final day of recruitment, was I left with only three houses to choose from? ( and "bottom tier" houses at that). What am I lacking? What could I have done differently leading up to and during recruitment week? What did the 80+ girls your chapter pledged have that I didn't have? What should I have done; drop out of Rush? Why are you bashing my sorority on this website?

(continued from above)
We're not in competition with each other. There's plenty of room on the Mizzou campus for all of us. In fact, we probably need more sororities on this campus considering 400+ girls who went through recruitment did not get into any chapter.
Why can't we be nice to each other and work together to promote the Greek system throughout the Mizzou campus and elsewhere.

On the last day of rush you had three choices. That's more than hundreds of women. Hundreds of others dropped out because they were left with fewer choices even earlier in the process. If you like the girls in your pledge class, like the actives and are not unhappy, I would count your blessings. Many women would love to be in your situation. It sounds as if you will make a great sorority member. I should say, however, that my guess is that your ACTs and grades were just average (or less) compared to the other girls going through rush. I know this because you confused something as simple as "then" and "than." And unless you excelled, not just participated in sports at the state level, or had hundreds of volunteer hours or held important leadership positions or were an AP Scholar, you just aren't top tier material. I'm not being mean. Just honest.

Couldn't have had a "perfect" rush, whatever that is, since my house asked NO ONE back with a 21 ACT (unless she lied on her rush forms). As an out-of-state student, I also found that I sailed through rush because I knew no one, so no one spoke badly about me. I don't think it is who you know at all. I think it is all about who you are.

No, they were the only ones not to. It's not a secret. Their rush chair likes to complain a lot, she's got a pretty big mouth and always talks bad about her chapter not doing anything.
