bullying at it's finest

by:

I've looked at other schools on this site and haven't found one yet that has the bullying that goes on at MIz. I'm sad that people haven't woken up to realize that is what they are doing. Perhaps some groups are defensive because that's how you stand up to bullies! PLEASE realize what is happening here before someone takes this stuff too seriously.

You do realize this happens to almost every house, right? The only difference bw the others and now with SK is that SK keeps responding. That's obviously what the bullies want, a response. They're not helping their case. If they stop commenting, I bet the bullying will stop. And I would know bc I speak from experience. I'm in a house that got bullied alllll the time. Just some friendly advice! Ignore it. As long as you're happy in your house it doesn't matter what anyone else says :)

This is honestly the best advice SK could take right now. I know it sucks because you feel like you're giving up the fight, but if you fight back you make your entire house seem petty and immature because you are so easily controlled by what other people think of you. You'll gain more respect here if you stay off the site and beat the haters out on the field (homecoming or Greek week), and with you're stunning personalities (phi mu is an overall well liked house, just not mainstream sorority girl. Very sweet and very respected bc they're a class act!)

I'd just like to say that in my house we're told ON BID DAY to refrain from commenting on anything on this website. My house recognizes this as a website that doesn't show the positive parts of Greek life on our campus and discourages the use of it. That being said, I do occasionally read it because I do want to know what people are saying about my house. I think the reason that this site has been so volatile the last couple of weeks is the PNMS and the moms.
Moms: I understand that you have questions, concerns, and want a place to speak your mind. Please understand that I'm saying this with the best intentions: This is not the place for it. It is Greekrank. If any of you read the comments/discussions PREVIOUS to your posts or comments you would've realized the backlash that one slightly negative word/question can have on this site. It is not a blog, it is not a forum to support each other like GreekCHAT. It's Greek RANK. All we do is rank and discuss the state of the houses that we see and come in contact with every day. Yes, looks are important on this site, but that's because we rank on looks, how people do in competitions, grades, class, and reputation. I apologize for some of the nastier comments that have been made, but in our defense many of the generalizations about houses on this site are true, to a certain extent.

Mizzou GR makes Bama and Texas GR look like a church social.

Future PNMS: Please stay away from this site next year! I understand that you're nervous and want to receive a bid from us. I get that you're nervous, we all were. I get that you might not have rec letters, neither did some of us. Next year, please direct your questions to either the Mizzou Class of 2017/2016 groups or Greekchat, if you want positive feedback and help. This year we were happy to answer your questions until there were a few PNMs that posted on this site that said that they knew they belonged in XYZ because that's the type of girl they were. So, lovely ladies, do not assume that you belong in a house before recruitment. Just because you like the idea of being in the "smart" house or the "hot" house doesn't mean that you'll like it when you arrive or that the current members will think you'd be a wonderful asset to their house. Please stay humble and we'll stay nice to you. Also, we get that there are questions, but we can't answer all of them. We aren't allowed to answer some of them and some vary from house to house. So, wait until you get to our beautiful campus and ASK YOUR PI CHIs. That is what they're there for. They chose to disaffiliate from the house that they love for a summer to be there for you, answer your questions, and help you make important decisions. XOXO

ABSOLUTELY AGREE. This site is where the losers from specific houses go to bash other houses they feel threatened by or are competing against for PNMs. Lots of greeks may look at it, but most of us laugh and/or ignore the BS. We are all friends. We have friends in every chapter. Some PNMs might have been cut from houses for talking bad about other houses (thinking it makes them look cool - wrong you probably just bashed someone's friend's house). The mean-spirited posts are from jealous, catty girls who think tearing down one house, helps theirs in some warped way. Don't judge our greek system based on this site! Don't judge ANY house based on this site. Join the greek system be a part of everything amazing about it. Meet actual women in houses before believing crap on here. This is nothing but a portal for insecure girls. And all the amazing greeks I know hail from 15 various chapters - TRUTH!

There are many women with disabilities involved in Greek life. In my pledge class we have someone who is legally blind. There are several girls who are hearing impaired in other houses and at least two girls that I know of who have alopecia. Not long ago KKG remodeled its house to accommodate a woman who uses a wheelchair. I'm in a top house and was very involved in recruitment this year. To say there are no "handicapped" girls -- a term, by the way, that is extremely derogatory -- is inaccurate. We strive to give every girl a chance and we do not discriminate. And let's remember, not all disibilities are visible.

It's the same generalization people make about greek life only being for "white girls only" which is not the case at all.
