If you're not picking your house based on who you get along with/where you feel at home then I do not pity you when you're miserable. Picking a house on popularity/tier is foolish.

the only place that ranking might help is if you're torn between two different houses and don't know which to put first and need a tie breaker.

The best house is the one you feel most comfortable in. While one person may think Chi O or Pi Phi are the best, another may love AXO and KD more.
