act vs gpa

How important are ACT scores? Are most grade cuts based on GPA? Curious because some people simply don't do well on standardized tests.

Do most houses make initial grade cuts at the beginning (say 3.3 or higher, etc.) and then base the rest of the week on the interaction & impressions made by the PNM?

Yup! If you make it past first round cuts with a house it means that you mean their grade requirement and the rest of the week is interaction and how you mesh with the group :)

So are the grade cuts based on overall, unweighted GPAs only? Because half of the reference/recommendation forms (from different sorority chapters) didn't even ask for SAT or ACT scores.

So if I have a 3.5 GPA & tons of activities/sports/comm. service, I don't need to worry about my below average ACT & SAT scores (except for houses like Theta & Chi O I guess)??? Sorry, I'm from out of state & just not sure how it all works! :)
