grade cuts

I had a 3.3 gpa and did not get cut by any house all through rush. Granted I had to cut houses throughout (and those houses may have equally cut me) but I always had my top choices. So I think a 3.3 is fine if you have good leadership activities, volunteer hours, sports/dance/ cheer etc. and make a good impression in all the houses. Find ways to talk about yourself in a good light, without coming accross bragging. Try to stand out in a good way. Fyi; My final three houses were PiPhi, Theta and Kappa.

Ok, so when the committee or whomever is making these cuts, please tell me they are looking at the official registration form . . . NOT the resumes people put together - and probably embellished! Is that kind of the official document that stays w/each PNM all week?

My house looks at the registration form to make cuts. It is more uniform and easier to go through than all the different resumes. However after the initial cuts your paper will likely not follow you the rest of week. At that point it is up to you and the impression you make. Regardless on how good your résumé or rush application looked!

Ok, thanks so much! That completely makes sense & sounds way more efficient and accurate. Is that how other houses do their process?? Would love to hear if that's the common practice. Thanks!
