sorority legacies

Do legacies automatically get bids from the house that their parents were in?

Sororities are obligated to see a girl who is a legacy at least twice, but are under no obligation to take her. The best houses on this campus could fill an entire pledge class just with legacies, and there is no way they would do that. There also are houses that like to steal another house's best legacies (and we all know who they are). So, yea, being a legacy doesn't really mean much.

Don't go into recruitment thinking you will have an edge just because you're a legacy. That might work in some houses, but we would take you only if you are up to our standards, not because your sister or your mother or whoever was a member (and it might not even have been at Mizzou).

No. No obligation. Legacies get cut like everyone else.

Legacies are a dime a dozen. We love to cut the arrogant ones, but will give the humble ones a chance, as long as they meet our standards.
